I adopted my first guinea pig last July, a solid black satin female that I named "Pearl". I work at a newspaper and a lady came in to give one away, I thought about it for a couple of days then went to get her, I knew absolutely nothing about guinea pigs; had hamsters when younger. I also didn't know about rescue organizations so when I went to get her a friend, went to Petsmart and got another female, brown and white, named "Rosie". Then went back and got two boys, named them "Doc and Wyatt". Then I started looking for adoptables online and ended up adopting a momma and her baby "Snowy and Momma". I called all the local shelters and was put on a list should any come in. Then yesterday got an email that one was available, so I went to get her, she was in a tiny cage with sore feet, and cedar bedding! The cage was so small, I felt so sorry for her. I took her to her new C&C cage that I had built the night before, her name is "Judy". A little boy had her and you can tell she's used to being loved on, I guess the family just got tired of her and they didn't really know how to take care of her. When I went down before work this morning to feed them their veggie breakfast, all the piggies started wheeking and she didn't really know why but got excited anyway, it won't take her long to learn. That's my story of the "Lucky 7". Absolutely guinea crazy!!!
