Hello all, I am new to the Cavy craze since my 6yr old daughter wished for one, we have two brothers from the same litter born in January of this year (2016) they are brown and white sheltie's and are super cute named Jack & Ash (bruce campbell fans) we also had an american standard named Brisco but we had to give him away he was to agressive to the brothers after a while and liked to bite, I originally made them a 2x5 two lvl C&C cage and used fleece and what not but have just recently changed to a plastic 3 level utility shelf with coroplast, pine shavings and ramps with led lighting to which I can change colour and dimness. I will be posting in the medical/Vet section soon with photos because for a while now Jack has impaction problems and I think it is now beyond my help and it could be because I am new and to fully understanding what I am looking at after cleaning. Cheers!

what makes you think he's impacted? It's very unlikely that a boar that young would have problems with impaction.

I thought the same thing because they are still young. Jack's bum is quite large (drags) and he does have poop jammed in there. yesterday I took out 13 pellets and he does tend to bleed and make a chirp/squeek sound when pooping. I will be posting photos later today when i get home from work.

Also thanks for the links I've been on this site for a few months reading up on everything Piggy, and have seen as many videos as I can but I haven't seen one yet that looks at all like jacks problem.

Squeaking while pooping is a classic sign of a bladder stone. I'd get him to a vet for an x-ray.

Welcome to the forum, your boys are adorable!

Blood and squeaking while pooping are classic symptoms of bladder stones. I would get him in to the vet for an X-ray as soon as possible.
