I don't have any guinea pigs currently as I want to build the cage first and I was thinking, the coroplast comes in 48x96 (I believe) but with a 3x6 cage the long sides of the coroplast would only be 4" high. Has anyone else dealt with this and found a way to make them higher or is it okay?

4" high is okay if they are not babies. For babies, the recommendations are either to overlap the grids to make the spacing between the bars smaller, or to put extra coroplast or cardboard to block off between the coroplast tray and the grids.

Thank you! I also am concerned whether the 4" will be enough to contain the bedding or if I should consider using fleece liners again. I have had guinea pigs before and made several fleece liners but I haven't used my sewing machine in ages!! Lol. I haven't even looked to see if I have any rescues in my area yet. I've been focusing on having a cage ready that will be plenty big for 2 to 3 pigs. :)

I have a 3x3 that I use wood pellets with fleece over the top. The back side is 6" high and the front and sides are 4". I haven't had any issues with it.

Would you mind sharing some pictures of your cage?

This was when I first upgraded to the 3x3. I'll take some more pictures this weekend for you.

The bag or plastic holder? The plastic holder I bought. It holds hay in the back and pellets in the front half. The hay bag I made after I looked at several tutorials on Pinterest. It's 3 layers of material (the 3rd might be overkill), 2 have holes cut out and are sewn together for the hay openings and the 3rd is sewn to that on 3 sides. I used grommets in the top 2 corners and then attach it to the cage with 2 shower curtain rings.
