Our family is a new Piggy family. He's a boy and about 10 months. My daughter is allergic to everything that is not a expensive animal wise and that is allowed in our condo.
My friend is very allergic to his hay and broke out very bad from it. It killed her to adopt him to us, but also knew it would be great for my daughter.
I was really worried she was going to be allergic to him as well since she is allergic to hamster and mice and rats. But we visited him a lot for several weeks and did well. She also needed a therapy pet although he is for the family as her father passed away a few years ago and is till having a very hard time of it.
He's an interesting little thing. I'd never thought much of having one but I'm hooked now. He loves to be held and cuddled.

Floor time is a bit of challenge and I need to come up with some gates for him. He's a bit spoiled on his treats though.
I hope to learn a lot here. Thanks for adding me.

Mary

Guinea pigs are pretty hypoallergenic animals. People are far more often allergic to the hay than to the pigs, and timothy is the worst offender. If you have problems, try orchard grass, meadow grass, or blue grass.
