one of my fiance's friends was giving away her guinea pig due to her busy schedule and the kids not playing with her as often. So I decided to take her in. She is anywhere from 1 year to 2 years old. She is a very temperamental girl. Getting her out of the cage to wonder around is apparently the end of the world, but becomes super comfy when she is on my bed in a pile of shirts. Her Name is McFluff Bottoms. I noticed after a while she would lay her head down and make a "pouting" noise. I have a odd work schedule and dont get home till around midnight or 2 am. So I decided to get her a friend. I went to the local petsmart since the local ads wanted a lot more to rehome one without a cage. Thus I got a longer hair "calico" pig. Yes I know it only refers to cats but now you know what she looks like. The new one is more timid and has a "cuddle bunny" personality. So far the two seem happy.

I have also taken the plunge and ordered a 2x6 C&C cage for them. They are in the typical pet store cage for the time being. I want them to have as much room as possible to play in while I am working.

I really dont like pet forums all to often due to the attitude of most of the members. However, I got banned from an FB group for no reason at all so I am coming here for tips and advice. I usually stick to my weapon forums or car forums. But, I want to make sure I am doing the best for my new pets, thus resulting in my membership here. The facebook group was not all to helpful when it came to questions unless they knew you. Not sure why a post not relating to guinea pigs at all but to an accident be valid, but my question get me banned. But I digress. I hope that I have better results here.

Welcome!

First, turn the two of the over and compare their genitalia. Pet shops are notorious for selling missexed pigs, and you don't want a pregnancy. Pregnancy and delivery are very hard on guinea pig sows and pups, and the death rate is high.

Here's some good info for new cavy owners:
