Exactly what does it mean when saying the cage should be draft free? I know of course not by the ac but what if the vent is in the middle of the room and th e cage is about 5 ft from there and kind of off to the side?

fans and ac shouldn't be facing/blowing towards the cage. but a fan or ac in the room is okay.

Draft-free means the pigs shouldn't be left in a cool/cold breeze blowing directly from a room air conditioner or an open window. Fans and central air are fine, as are room air conditioners if the baffle is directing air away from the pig cage.
