Hi all :) My name is Miranda and I have one piggy named Luci. (I named her after Lucille Ball from I Love Lucy) She is a Rex I believe.. She has course fuzzy fur... She is an only piggy right now, only for the fact that when I rescued her, she was in a bin the size of a hamster cage with 10 other guinea pigs (mixed genders!) who were all fighting and attacking each other. She was the only one who wasn't fighting back or being aggressive. My mother has her own pig in a separate cage, named Lola. She got Lola as a baby and since my Luci is so shy they don't get along at all. Luci gets very defensive and when Lola tries rubbing on her or cuddling.. Luci just doesn't know how to act. I am in search of an older lady piggy that may get along with my Luci. I'm in no hurry. I want to make sure to find the PERFECT friend for her. I think having a more laid back and somewhat shy friend will make Luci much happier than a rambunctious baby. and I will definitely be Adopting, not buying one from a pet store :) She is very sweet and loves chin rubs. she is my little chubby baby and I am so glad I found her. :) (she is going to be VERY spoiled soon, when I move out she gets her very own bedroom for me to make a C&C cage!):love::D 12647559_591622967658462_6336902198759064785_n.jpg12644912_591622987658460_1547797084977582201_n.jpg12669618_591623087658450_8400966472654068937_n.jpg

Welcome to the forum! Thank you for rescuing Luci.

In response to you getting her a friend, since she was in a tub with males, I'd hold off on getting her a friend, since there is a good chance she may be pregnant. You can keep one of the female babies if sh has one, and not have to worry about intros or quarantine, since mother daughter bonds are very strong.

Ditto about waiting to see if she's pregnant.

And there's a protocol for introducing pigs. If you're just putting them together, no wonder they're not getting along.

It's usually very easy to introduce sows. Occasionally you'll run into one that won't live with another pig. Read this and try again: https://guinea-pigs.livejournal.com/3002707.html

Hello guys, I apologize, I forgot to mention I have had her for almost a year now..I am new to forums and such. We think with the amount of bullying she put up with from all her cage mates she has a hard time getting along with other piggies. She does great when they are calm, but my mom's is only a baby still, and my girl gets fed up with all the popcorning and playfulness.. She's kinda grouchy

I'd be willing to bet that they're doing just fine. It just takes some chasing and sniffing and nipping and chuttering for them to work out who's boss.

I just introduced three sows, and it took 11 hours before I thought it was safe for me to go to bed. It took another week for the grumbling at each other to subside, and they're still complaining when another one gets too close when there's food involved.
