We have just got ourselves are first piggy. He is about 3 months old and seems to have settled in very well. At the moment he lives in a small shop bought glass cage, but this will be temporary and I have begun making a new larger one. As I mentioned, we are new to piggies so I'm doing lots of reading how to look after them, their likes, dislikes, etc.

Pics will probably be taken once he is rehomed so that shouldn't be too long.

Welcome, lwpiggy. You should get Sheldon a buddy now while he's still a pup. It's easier to do an introduction when they're babies. Guinea pigs are social animals and do a lot better when they have a companion.

Thanks for your comment pinky, Has soon as I have built a new piggy home we can consider that option since there will be more space for 2. I will read up on recommended minimum space for 2 guinea pigs and see if I can adapt my build plans in the available space we have for a cage.

Since you will have boys, your cage will definitely need to be big. I believe a 2x6 is the minimum. I may be wrong. Its on the homepage anyway.
Good luck and welcome!

2x5 is the minimum for two boars, but the bigger the better.
