So, I have a 5x2 cage at the moment - I want to make it bigger but apparently they are taking over the flat lol ah well =D

I was thinking as I've just bought some extra grids (to make the whole messy Hay thing in the fleece and towels thing easier) about building a little loft for them? is a 1x2 enough? how do people make the ramp? I had a spare ramp I gave away with my last cage! so gutted I didn't keep it.

Is this a good idea or is it best just to put hay everywhere for them to nibble at every now and then anyway? (I think ive read that somewhere rather then confining it to one particular spot)

But then again if they want hay they know where to get it?

i have mini itter boxes full of hay they just jump in when they need it, and i would do a 2x4 loft so that they can both fit up there i used grids and fleece to make my ramp

Lofts need to be bigger than 1x2 -- those are pretty useless. I'd do at least a 2x2.

Like cleaning the bottom layer will be awkward to get to with the 2×2 on top? Or is it okay

What I ended up doing is putting 2 together and ziptying them to the loft so they bend...

Thank you for all your ideas everyone.
I made my loft on Friday night and luna was the first to go up it and come back down herself.
However since she's not been up it at all and bellas the only one to use it as she's loves the hidey bit and the fact the hays up there.
I'm just a tad worried lunas not using it now and I've only got the hay upstairs as that's the point of it! What do I do :(

I would put her upstairs and show her the hay, and let her come down when she wants to. If she doesn’t come down, gently show her the way up the ramp and back down again, then put her back at the top of the ramp.

I’d love to see pictures!

She's finally walked upstairs on her own after me putting her up there myself a few times. :)
I made it 1x2 just to test it and see if they use it so I'll have to buy more grates to make it bigger :D
argh how do I rotate?
