Hello, I'm not quite sure how to use this app yet but I found these two sores on my guinea pig and I am not sure what it is, I haven't taken him to the vet yet as I only found them now. Could someone please provide some feedback regarding them as I am very worried... :(

@liane.sudano, I have moved your post to its own thread. Please don't piggyback on another thread. It gets confusing for those who end up trying to answer both questions. If you have a question, go ahead and start your own thread in the appropriate category.

Incidentally, it looks like fungus to me. @bpatters, @lissie - what do you think?

@liane.sudano It looks like a scab to me. Does he have a cage mate that could have bitten him?

Thank you for making a thread for me. I don't know how. He doesn't have a cage mate and never has. He is outside on the gross now and it looks like this..

It does look like a fungal infection. My baby just had one on her face. What country are you in?

I'm not sure. Where would I find it? A vet or pharmacy?

What is it? I'll have to find out and let you know. What happens with a fungal infection?

According to guinea lynx, you can use clotrimazole 1%. Can you post the ingredients on your box? If it's 1%, you can use it.

That's what you want. Clotrimazole is generic for Lamisil cream. Its what I used for my pig, and its safe for them. I wiped the spot on my pig down with warm water, then patted it dry, then just apply it to all the infected areas, a thin amount will do, twice daily, make sure it is rubbed in well. I did mine for seven days, after about 4, it cleared up, but I used it for the full seven to make sure it was gone. Use gloves or a cotton ball or swab, because it can be contagious to humans.
