So, the little runt of the two figured out how to get out of the cage. He likes to tug at the bottom black connector to loosen it, then he forces his head between two grids and pushes them apart, making a nice gap to get in and out. I've been putting a heavy box against the cage where he likes to do this, but it didn't really help much. I woke up to two squeaking piggies waiting for their morning veggies. >.<"

Jupiter only seems to do this when he and his buddy are excited and/or wanting their veggies and pellets. The problem is, my grids are pretty light, and the connectors aren't the best. I'd tie cable ties but I disconnect everything in order to clean the fleece. I don't want to have to go through 10-20 cable ties a week.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do? I feel like the piggies are gonna win this one. lol

I looked up videos of baby proofing cages a while back, maybe these ideas will work for you?

Take either a shower curtain or a large fleece blanket (it should do the same thing, the fleece is just cuter) and place it under the coroplast insert. Take the excess fleece, and clip it to the grids with binder clips, so that the grids are completely covered.

I wish you the best of luck with trying to keep your little one in the cage!

That sounds like a great idea actually, but I wish it would work for me. You see, the grids I have are different then the usual ones you would use. There aren't square sections but rather oval shapes, so it's too small of a gap to clip anything to it. D:

Why do you take it apart to clean it? I'd zip tie it instead of using connectors and just move it when you clean the cage.

Because since its so big I find it easier to just take it apart and rebuild it again. It only takes literally a minute to assemble it. But I probably might just tie them with the cable ties and just move it around without removing anything. We'll see.
