Mites my suspicion my new pig may have mites

Hi everyone so as you all now I have a new pig Gale that I adopted a few days ago. I'm not exactly sure it's mites or if it's just because he's not used to being petted or cuddled. He's not scratching but he absolutely hates me touching him even just a little bit. He'll let you pet his nose but any further down he starts shaking his head like a dog does. And he'll start twitching and running away from you. Could this be mites or am I just a worry wart?

You're a worry wart. He's a new pig, and he's not used to you yet. It doesn't sound at all like mites to me.

yeah, he's not used to you yet. just spend time sitting by his cage and talk to him softly. let him sniff your hand so he could get used to your smell, feed him treats like baby carrots. my guinea pig was super scared at first but now he's doing better. he'll actually follow me around. just give him time.

It took my pig about six months to fully get used to me. Don't Worry!

I've had mine about a month... and sometimes she's relaxed in my lap, then other times she trembles and hides in my sweater. *shrugs* still in the adjustment period, but I know how you feel about worrying!
