Hello, I'm Makenna. I only have one piggie at the time being, but she is most likely pregnant, so I'll have more in a week or two! Her name is Scarlet, and she is the cutest, sweetest, most huggable animal on the face of the earth! (But I've been forced to air-hug instead so as not to hurt her babies :()

I would, but I can't seem to figure out how. I can't add images from the Insert Image button...

That is a very pregnant piggy! Have you read up on how to care for pregnant pigs and babies?

Only for about six hours. (I research when I'm nervous.) I'm supposed to give her unlimited Timothy and alfalfa hay, water, and extra pellets. Limit floor time a bit more, allow her to rest, don't feel her stomach too much. At six weeks you can feel the babies kick, a week before they're born you may hear their teeth chatter, pelvic bones separate 24-48 hours before birth. Gestation period 9-10 weeks. Keep a vet on hand in case of complications. Litters of 1-6 pups. 1 in 5 guinea pigs die as a direct result of labor (eeeeek :(). When the pups are born, everyone gets unlimited water, Timothy, alfalfa, and pellet. Wean and remove the males at 2-3 weeks or they will impregnate Mom or Sis. Babies are born with fur, open eyes, and can walk. They may start eating solids right away.

Is there anyyyy tips at all that you can give me, aside from what I already learned? I'm sooo scared...

If there's females, I'm allowed to keep one (but I might be able to convince Mom to let me keep 2). No males though. And I'll pass along the compliment :)

You're doing fine. You're WAAAYY ahead of a lot of people who do no research and are surprised to come in one day and find pups in the cage.

What kind of pellets are you feeding her? She also should get 1 cup of veggies every day.

Whoops, forgot to add that part. Don't worry, I've been giving her a daily 1-cup mix of romaine lettuce, a little bell pepper, and a slice of fruit. The pellets I'm feeding her are alfalfa-based.

If she gets unlimited alfalfa pellets, she doesn't need any extra alfalfa hay.

Separate males at 3 weeks, good luck to you and Scarlet!
