Hi! My names Bronson and I have 2 male gunieas. Ive had guniea pigs before so care and such isn't new to me, but the c&c cages are. Ive always used the largest cages from pet supplies plus which are abour 2.5x3 feet or so, and that was with one guniea. Now that I live in Chicago I have the same cage with 2 males that are pretty much inseparable, id like to make a larger cage just so they have room room play and such when im not home. I have a 690sqft apartment and I usually let them run around for a few hours and leave their cage open so they can go back in as they please. Ive just seen the two story cages and have been really interested in building them a better cage for their bemefit. Any and all help will be appreciated! this is Gerald hes about 10 months old.
this is Percy hes about 8 months old

Look at the photos in the photo gallery -- there are hundreds of cages of all shapes in there. Also read the page at the Main tab on the top of this page -- it's got instructions on how to assemble grids if you decide to go that route.

Id like to do grids, because you can easily change or expand the cage. Ive looked at my local walmart and target for grids and I never found them.

The grids at Target are unsafe. They are the 8 hole grids which means the holes are larger. Check Bed, Bath & Beyond. You can get a box of them for around $18.

I found cheap grids on ebay for free shipping. I wound up not getting them because someone I knew already had some and gave them to me.

You might check to make sure they're the right kind.
I'm new here too, just finished my C&C cage yesterday evening! My girl made a happy noise for the first time and started jumping around. It was awesome. It's really simple too. You'll need to get coroplast. I found it at Home Depot. Give the workers the store number, because when we said coroplast they had no idea what we were talking about haha. (broken link removed)

You can order the grids online at Walmart and have them delivered to the store for you.

It's called corrugated plastic everywhere. Coroplast is the abbreviated term for CORrugated PLASTic.

Ok I was just clarifying for @GeraldAndPercy because I had the same issue she did when I went to home depot. They had no idea what I was talking about when I said coroplast. Since I was new to everything I didn't know it was called corrugated plastic. So it took them a loooooong time to find what I was talking about. I figured I would save her some time is all...

Coroplast is a brand name, like Correx and some others. Corrugated plastic is the product.
