I came home from school/football game around 10:10pm.. I haven't been home all day. I went downstairs to feed the pigs and when I was putting food in the cages, I found Chubby. He was inside the grid tunnel.. it looked like his head had been stuck in, but it wasn't. His teeth are around a piece of the grid and he's just lying there. He couldn't have suffocated.

How could he have died? He's not even 2 years old. I don't have the money for a necropsy..

How the hell can I even seperate him from the grid? He is just...stuck... And I think the only way to take it off is to either break the grid or..break his jaw...

I'm bawling right now, and if any of that was confusing, I'm sorry. I just didn't expect this at all...

Oh, Ruby! *Hug* That's so sad! Know we're all here for you. Maybe you could get someone to cut the grid out from around him so that you don't hurt his body.

I'm so sorry. This is terrible. I can only advise you to wait a bit until the rigor mortis goes away. Then you should be able to open his mouth without hurting his body.

Well, we did wait a while trying to cut the grids. Then he slipped out.. I would never hurt his body like that anyways, it was somebody's question, if we had to. Luckily we didn't.. I couldn't cut the grid(crappy plier things) but my sister was trying, that's when he slipped out.

Now I only have 6 pigs.. And I think I will put Stripes up for adoption because he won't get along with any one else besides Chubby.. Simon's too dominant and ignorant, and so is Stripes so I already know that won't work out.. And I don't want him to have to live the rest of his life alone. Does anyone else think that I should do this? I won't want to, but I want what's best for Stripes and being alone the remainder of his life is not what is best IMO.

Thanks everyone..

I'm sorry for your loss. Give it a day or two before making any major decisions, then you can make a decision about Stripes.

I am so sorry for your loss. If you really think Stripes can't bond with anyone else then you should keep him, perhaps on his own. But I agree with Jenn, wait a few days before you make a decision. Thinking of you xx

I would give you hug if you weren't all the way over in USA, Ruby.
Poor Chubby, he was a good piggy.
Tell Stripes I said good luck.
