When I just got home I went to clean the guinea pig cage and noticed Clementine laying right outside the door of the pigloo. She was on her side slightly shaking (almost like a child having a nightmare), and her eyes were almost entirely closed but you could see a tiny sliver of them that appeared glassy/cloudy. I made some noise to try to get her up, and nothing. I opened up the cage and started talking to her, nothing. I poked her with my hand, nothing. I went to pick her up and she jumped a mile (like I'd just woken her from a deep sleep) and stared at me. Then I went to try to pick her up again and she ran off. Her eyes appear clear. After I cleaned the cage she sat in the food bowl waiting for the fresh hay. She started eating once I gave her the new hay. She's being very quiet, which is unusual for her, but she seems to be acting normal beyond that. This all occurred within the past 10 minutes.

She does not have any health problems that I am aware of. Her last wellness exam was in May and she was healthy. She is 5 years old. Could she have been having a seizure? I've never seen a guinea pig seizure before. My childhood dog had epilepsy, but it didn't quite look like that.

Alex does that in his sleep very frequently. Pretty creepy, but he's been fine.

That's good to know. I've never noticed her sleep like that before. She is a deep sleeper, and me having to poke her to wake her up isn't totally unusual. It was the combo of things (and the fact I had to actually pick her up) that had me freaked out.

She is back to being vocal again, but she's gone back to sleep.
