I usually would line newspaper first, then you know, those pads for dogs? I would put some on top of the newspaper then put the bedding on top. This way, some of the urine could be absorb by the pads! :) Just my opinion and my way! I'll post pictures during my next change of bedding! :D

I don't use those as well, only shavings...
