The fleece flippers (although expensive) I think are great. They come prewashed, the pattern matching and selection is nice. In addition my sewing skills are nonexistent so it's nice to know that if the piggies ever get to the point they ruin a fleece cover I can just order a replacement...

you can add a loft using more Grids and a ramp or the C&C cages store on here sells ones you can insert. they also sell ramps if you want to buy one instead of making 1

I can answer number 3 the cable ties are permanent to remove them they need to be broken or cut. I used the connectors and then ziptied under them and it secured the cage very well. The 4 inch zip ties should be big enough and they are not to expensive if you need to break it down over and over.
