    Behavior Piggies who can't share

My piggies -still- do this, and the four have been together for about a year and the fifth one was added around 9-10 months ago. They'll kick someone out of one of the hideys, they'll play tug of war with the veggies, tip the bowl in their direction...it's actually kind of funny since no one's...

    Veg*n vegan/vegetarian mock shrimp?

Does anyone know where I can find vegan/vegetarian mock shrimp, that you can buy in stores? Doesn't -have- to be vegan [I prefer things to be, but I'm not a strict vegan], but naturally has to be vegetarian. I've heard of it, so I know it exists, but I can't find any brands. A little help?

How Many? Should I get another pig?

Oh, she's definitely not too old to bond with another pig. I'm sorry to hear about your other pig. :(

Frustrated Will my dog kill them??

That's weird, I didn't know mini pins were like that. My friend has one and she's the sweetest thing ever and would play around with her rabbits. I wouldn't chance anything, and you'd definitely have to have some sort of lid on the cage that would always have to be closed, or keep the dog out...

Is Rescueing a Guinea Pig really better then the PetStores.

Well, yes, the pigs in the adoption center most likely came from the pet store. I don't really see your point here. When you buy from a pet store, you are supporting them and breeding mills and poor care. When you adopt from a rescue or shelter, you are supporting them and adoption and better...

    GP not Happening

Oh, are you planning on adopting a bunny? I have two male bunnies - remember there's a bunny forum on here for your questions! rabbit.org is a good place for information. Also buns can have C&C cages as well, but they have to be taller and bigger. I have my two buns in the two-grid high...

Fleece What is Better: Anti-pill or Polar?

i'm not sure what minky fleece is, but i know microfiber fleece like the person above mentioned is -not- good for wicking. it just absorbs the urine unlike anti-pill/polar. it is however very soft. the one in have in my rabbits cage isn't too bad as a lot of the urine does wick [more than...

Fleece What is Better: Anti-pill or Polar?

Anti-pill is definitely better, I have some polar fleece that I use for the kitchen and it isn't as nice as the anti-pill fleece. sdpiggylover, i've never heard of that website but i've been needing to get more fleece so i'm going to order from there!

General At what part of your house do you keep your piggies?

my bedroom...the living room, family room, kitchen and master bedroom are accessed by four large dogs making it unsafe, guestroom can only fit a 2x4 and my five sows are now all together so that wouldn't work. besides, they get the most attention in my room anyway.

    Coroplast l-shape coroplast?

i've tried taping two pieces of coroplast together before, and it's turned out horrible. yeah, i'm a bit confused with the measurements myself - they're not adding up properly. i'll probably just have to do two pieces o.O

Hay KM box arrived today crushed

geez, calm down a bit. the first time i ordered from kleenmama's the bag ripped when i received it. the third or fourth time i ordered, it took an extra week or so to get here for reasons i can't remember, but i didn't rush off to this forum to complain about her. these things happened...

    Coroplast l-shape coroplast?

yeah, i just got two pieces of 4x8 coroplast from a sign shop, and it's enough, although i'm -really- confused. basically, my cage is a 2x5 with a 1x2 l-shape, or a 2x3 with a 2x3 l-shape. [for some reason i just realized it's actually a 2x6 l-shape...i'm pretty good with the cage building...

    Coroplast l-shape coroplast?

okay, so to keep it simple i'm just going to ask this; can i make an l-shape coroplast one piece or does it HAVE to be two pieces? i'm having trouble lining up one of the corners, so i'm thinking it's going to have to be two pieces, although i'd prefer one.

Behavior Male guinea pigs more friendly?

i've only had female piggies, but i've noticed male animals in general to be more friendlier. like, i have three male dogs and one female dog; the female is very aloof, while the others are very "in-your-face" and love on you all day, although part of that might be because she's a rottie and...

Help!! My Piggie just had babies and I'm at a loss

the babies are certainly cute. although it's hard to tell, that ginger/white guinea pig that you believe to be pregnant -does- have a pear-shaped body, which is how pregnant sows look. are they living permanently in a glass tank? not only is it small, it has poor ventilation. please look...

Blog not moar cage designing! D:

oh, and the new cage is pretty cool. it's a 2x5 with a 2x3 end...that's big enough for five pigs, right? [to be more correct, it would be a 2x4 with a 2x3 end i think...basically, it's either a 2x7 or 2x8 l-shape if it was laid flat]

Blog not moar cage designing! D:

haha! i built the cage, and it's all ready, and i didn't even have to take apart the other one! ...problem? i can't fit it through the doorway. -.- [the old cage, that is.] my legs are already horribly scratched up because of me building this cage and bumping up against cut, sharp zip...

Blog not moar cage designing! D:

Kimberly713 - thanks! the problem is that both lucy and candy are dominant pigs, so when together it's kinda like world war iii o.O that cage is kinda what i'm lookin' for, except without the dividers. lissie - well, i usually would, but the spot it's in can't really fit a 3x5. [correction...

Introductions (New) Need help with pregnant guinea(s)!

from what i've heard, if she isn't hurting the babies, it should be fine to leave her in there until you seperate any males you may have. i'm sure you're not in trouble, lol - i remember a little while back a person who adopted four sows and they -all- turned out to be pregnant.
