Hello,
If you look in the pregnancy forum you will find the story of my piggies.
I adopted a mom and she turned out to be pregnant. She gave birth to two beautiful piggies and I thought (hoped) they were both female but now that they are two weeks old its easy to tell one is a boy and one a...
Okay, I was pretty sure about 21 days but I just wanted to make sure. Even if I had gotten no replies I would separate them at that time. This morning I caught the little sneak trying to mount his mother. On the 15th is when he will be 21 days...there is no possibility of him breeding earlier...
Turns out that I have a boy and a girl baby, not two girls. I am trying to find a new home for the boy and got a reply back from someone on craigslist saying that 3 weeks was to young and that I was being cruel. If I read right the boy can get the mother pregnant at 24 days, therefore I need...
I love the gutter idea! I have some babies and the grid covered in cloth isn't doing it for them. I have some gutter laying around somewhere...I will have to find it and give your idea a try.
I love the cage colors!
The best place to find wire racks like that is large thrift stores. There are usually two or three wire thingies whenever I go that would make great racks and for around .99 or 1.99
Heh, it does look really cute and sweet but I honestly I think I caught the mother scratching an itch and the babies are wondering what she is doing. :P
They are so cute and fun to watch, I have a chair by their cage just so I can sit and watch them. The mom has already taught them to popcorn! She was doing it a ton this morning while waiting for me to give her the fresh veggies. They follow her around and give these little hops and jumps and...
Thank you! I am honestly just relieved that everything went smoothly. I had a nightmare the other night that involved rushing the mama to the vet only to find they had moved. I will be able to sleep better now.
Nelly is such a great mama and since she was alone for the month that we had...
Early this morning (much earlier than I was awake) my Nelly had her babies. I could have sworn she was big enough to fit three in there but there were only two, beautiful and healthy babies.
Disclaimer: I did not breed my mommy piggy nor do I condone breading of guinea pigs. It turns out...
Okay, she has been getting a little over a cup or so for the last month. I imagine she was just especially hungry after giving birth. She has settled down now and is nursing the babies (pups?) in her nest area. She was also just excited for some reason, probably excited to be rid of about...
This is just my opinion but if she is doing it then it will not hurt her or the babies. It is a bit of a myth that mothers have to be "extra careful" when they are pregnant, human or animal.
I was nine months pregnant and sleeping in the barn with my mother goats and the five babies that they...
