i'm confused, why didnt you just make it a 2x8? the ramp takes up part of the space that you gained by putting on a second floor. I wish i had that much room for mine. they are very lucky piggies!

a good rescue will be able to tell you what you have...boy or girl... a good rescue will let you bring hiim/her for a playdate to see if any will get along with him/her. they will not let you adopt an opposite sex. they are in it to stop the cycle.

Personally I like 2 levels. Shortly I will be putting on a 3rd level so I guess we will see how that goes. It's not so hard to clean under the second level if you have it built right.

Mine love the second floor and at any given time there are at least 2 of the 5 of them up there... if you are keeping the 2x4...make the top level a 1x4 with a1x1 attached for the ramp. I have bigger stepstools in the corners of mine so there are an in and out around the corners.

Sounds like a U shaped. that's what I have pretty much..they love the top layer!

The rescue place I got mine from prefers trios vs duos. The only reason being if one happens to die there will still be 2 left and they wont grieve as badly. I have 5 females that get along great!

your grids for support are eliminating floor space on the first level. I use L shelf brackets for support, others use dial rods or wood strips. Good luck!

Are the store bought ones with roofs? I personally would build it myself, instead of buying...i think it would be alot cheaper and then you can personalize it anyway you want.
