This ramp is external, to maximize space. It is made by bending four grids at right angles (they bent easily by laying a 2x4 board across the grids, stepping on the board with my feet over the thick sides of the grid, and bending slowly, being careful to avoid bending the seamed side.) and zip tying them together. The floor and ends are coroplast. The coroplast ends are zip tied at their tops and clipped (using loops of zip ties to reach underneath to the grids) at their bottoms so that both ends open for cleaning. A hand towel is a perfect size to cover the floor, and is clipped in place. To make the doorways, I held the ramp in place and marked which wires would need to be cut on the cage and ramp. After cutting the doorways, I wrapped all rough edges in a thick layer of electrical tape, and zip tied the ramp to the cage. Herbert Nenninger used it immediately. Fluffernickel took a few days, and had to be coaxed. (How funny, watching H. N. trying to shove him down it!) But now both boys use it freely, and I have even caught Fluff hanging out in there.

Cool idea! How did you cut the cubes?

Well, I tried tin snips, a small hand saw, and anything else I found down in my husband's workshop, without much success. Frustrated, I grabbed the large dog nail clippers, which did the trick. That is until the next time my husband tried to clip the dog's nails... Oops! (heh heh) I owe them a good pair of nail clippers, I guess!
