Here is a photo showing what I can of the 2nd level hayloft area for my pigs. You can see from this angle that there is a littler box to one end which takes up slightly over half of the length of the loft. They hayloft is mounted at the front of the cage and I've decided to keep the pellet food and veggies to the opposite end of the hay but within the litter box. This way when they go tossing around their veggies it doesn't make a stinky mess on the fleece.
In the litter box I have a layer of newspaper, a layer of shredded paper and finally a layer of carefresh ultra (the white kind). When I want to change the litter box all I have to do is roll up the newspaper and throw it away - wipe it clean and start over! It makes it very simple.
