I'm providing lots of images of this cage so that you can see how it was assembled as well as how it works.
The bottom level is made of mesh grids for extra strength in holding the weight but I'm sure you could get away with regular grids.
The bottom "pedestal" legs are removable, allowing us to move the cage through a doorway without having to disassemble it. The upper portion of the cage is zip tied thoroughly so that it will not fall apart when bumped, pulled or anything at all.
The center middle of the cage, REQUIRES the length of 2 grid panels shown in the pictures. These two grids LOOK like they are optional but they are not. For the engineering of this cage to operate properly, you have to have this 'span' of grids to support the weight of the cage on either end. (My husband, informed me of this quite sternly when he came up with the design)
In the one picture I've shown how it lifts off the pedestal sections. Fortunately the weight of the cage holds it into the connectors really well. However, if you wanted you could easily just zip tie the bottom level and just take those off when you move the cage and re-zip them again if you had too.
This cage allows storage in both the 'drawer' sections as well as under the center. As you can see, my puppy finds it a nice resting spot! (That's Oberon Frecklefoot)
