You could see if a local rescue has any FIV (feline immunity virus) cats/kittens, they cant go outdoors in case they spread FIV to other cats. My local rescue will only re home FIV cats/kittens to flats, I think the kitten season is over now so you might find it hard to get one in a rescue anyway.

My dream animal is definitely a horse-a lovely piebald cob!! also a pair of miniature Shetlands, a donkey, a huge aquarium of guppies, a tortoise or two, some rats, a tiny rabbit (netherland dwarf?) a brindle staffi and a Yorkshire terrier... I have a feeling they will all stay 'dream' pets!
I think taking out her hideys will make her even more scared, guinea pigs are prey animals and need plenty of places to hide. Try sitting next to her cage and hand feeding her whilst talking gently. I think some pigs are just more nervous then others-they all have different characters!
