    Sad baby bird story

Yeah, I know how you feel. Yesterday my husband and I were outside and he saw something fall out of the tree. It was a baby bird but before we could even decide what to do it died, probably from internal injuries since he hit some branches on the way down. My head says that it's just...

My first adoption - a little disappointing

I had the exact same experience adopting one of my girls from the Humane Society. Its really sad but the truth is they're doing the best they can with what they got. If you look at the living conditions of the other kinds of animals it isn't exactly perfect either. The Humane Society that I...

    Meet Harley!

I actually check local online classified ads and bulletin boards looking for free pigs everyday and I always adopt them. I only have 4 pigs so I guess you could say guinea pigs aren't very popular in our area, which is good considering how they're treated here. I did have him in quarantine I...

    Meet Harley!

I saw this ad for a free guinea pig on our local online classifieds. I was a little concerned that he was free and with all the stupid people out there you never know what could happen to him so I called right away and picked him up in the evening. When I picked him up the pig's home was a...

    Furminator-shedding tool

I should also mention that it comes in handy for getting hair off of coats. My cat, Josie, found a nice hiding spot in our closet right next to my favorite green coat, well needless to say, when I when to put it on it was covered with cat hair. We had about 5 minutes before we had to go and...

    Veg*n Help with Thai Food

I'm going to a concert on Monday and before the concert we're going to a Thai restaurant. I've never had Thai food before and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of vegetarian dishes that I can order? Or stuff that looks vegetarian but isn't?

Im so angry! Please pray for Munchkin!

I agree with MainerGal, you need to talk to the media or your town or city council. Whoever you can to get this exposed. Those firefighters need to be told that this is not acceptable. What if you find the cat and it needs vet care? Is the fire department going to pay for it? They should...

    Furminator-shedding tool

I got the small one for Christmas and it works amazing. Riley, my beagle, loves it so much he sits in my lap and waits to be brushed. Between three dogs and three cats I have a huge pile of hair at the end.

Congrats on the new editions. They are both so cute and your room makes me wish I was a ferret with all those toys. Wow!

    Crocheting cozies?

What if you would make a cuff of fleece around the top? or if you would felt it?

    Crocheting cozies?

I love the idea of crocheted cozies. I think I would go with the upside down beanie idea but make the base a lot bigger and then line it with fleece. I think I'm going to give that a try.

I have to show you these carrots!!

Those are huge carrots! This year I grew purple carrots and round carrots but I've never seen such short, fat carrots. Are they a special type? And if it makes you feel better, I always have problems growing cilantro too. ;)
