They don't seem to like eachother - HELP!

Give it a few days at least, I would probably try for at least 2 weeks. Then, make the judgement call as to if she is better off or not. If you do decide to seperate them, I would put them in a divided cage if you have the room, perhaps with a up and downstairs level for each side, that way...

    Cavy savvy vet?

You do sound like a great piggy parent. Do your homework, find out how much an emergancy appointment, a regular appointment, and treatment for certain common conditions, like a URI are going to cost you at the vets office that you find. (Tell them that you are asking because you want to make...

    Cavy savvy vet?

I don't think that annual checkups are really nessisary, going to the vet can be really stressful for a pig, and it exposes them to an environment where there may be nasties hanging in the air. Read over the care guide at Guinea lynx. Feed your pigs a healthy mix of veggies, unlimited hay, and...

They don't seem to like eachother - HELP!

I think so, from what you have discribed, I would. Just make sure they have 3 hidy houses to go off and pout in if need be. I think they need to work it out on their own. By pulling them apart and putting them together, you may actually make it harder for them to adjust to eachother.

    helping a bereaved guinea pig

Well, that is good, definately no more baby piggies on the way! I did not want to assume and be obnoxious! I think that getting a friend is probably going to be the best way to cheer up your pig. That said, make sure you do a proper quarantine and go through the right introductions between the...

Cage size and Lone pigs... thoughts and opinions.

That is a good idea Ly, I like it, it is proably pretty good for rats. I still worry a little that someone may one day shove a larger animal in it, but I can only be responsible for who I give it to for the purpose they state they are using it for. It is definately big enough for rats...

    preggers or just fat?

She does not look pregnant to me. If she is though, would think if you picked her up and held her up to your ear you may hear grinding noises from the babies teeth at this stage in the game, that is if you are still wondering if maybe she is carrying only one...

    helping a bereaved guinea pig

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I really don't think there is too much a human can do to help with pig grief, other then maybe try and offer a few extra veggies and such. Are you considering adopting another? Was one of them fixed?

    Not Mange again....

Could be dry skin due to the dry winter air, could be skin damage, if you gave him a bath with really anything but kitten shampoo and even then, if you did not rince him well recently, it could be a fungal infection. I would still treat for mites, lay off the hair products, and keep a close...

Do you think my pigs have mites?

Oh my goodness that looks awful! What I can't figure out for the life of me though is why he won't perscribe ivermectin even as a preventitive, it is very safe, I have never heard of a vet overdosing a pig or harming a pig with it! What could it hurt? I would find another vet, or seriously give...

    Debate on Veggie amount

I don't see how overdoing it, provided it is highquality good for guinea veggies is going to harm them. Now, there may be no benifit to overdoing the veggies, but certainly it is not going to "harm" them or give them diarrhea. Things like sweet peppers cliantro and romane / red or green leaf...

They don't seem to like eachother - HELP!

I agree, it does not sound like anything they cannot work out. Just make sure you do a proper intro, neutral territory, and even if they become a flying ball of fur, try to stay out of it unless someone is obviously getting creamed.

Cage size and Lone pigs... thoughts and opinions.

Well, as some may be aware, I have lost my pigs, and while my family is coming to terms with it, we have decided not to rescue more at this time in our life. I cannot guarantee that we can prevent another tragedy, and with planning a move in the next few months it is not a good time. (We had...

Rest in peace, my little ones

Thank you for all the support. We are all doing a little better as the week progresses. We will never forget our piggie babies. For those with dogs, even good dogs, try not to grow a little complacient as time moves on with no incidents, as all it takes is a moment for disaster to strike.

Canada Where To Find Fresh Green Hay

Oxbow has a canadian supplier, last i checked it was called the canadian pet connection. It is based out of missisauga I believe... A farm will always be best for pricing. Kaytee is available in a lot of places, but it is expensive. https://www.canadianpetconnection.com/
