the mods on this site need to get a grip. ive only posted 3 posts and each time a mod has annoyed me to :censored: me out about grammer and capitolizing I's and telling me my answer to a question is wrong.. like your a mod not a vet so dont message people and tell us were wrong about our advice or opinion. the people here and the mods are all high and mighty like only they know how to take care of guinea pigs and like their way is the only correct way. i have been bothered by this controlling forum since day one and dont use this site much because of the mods. a forum is for freedom of speech and ideas. part of that is also allowing people to type how they want and not being nazis about punctuation. the mods and alot of the users need to take it down a notch with the high and mightyness and thinking only they know what is right and proper care for pigs. i HATE this forum and will never use it again. hopefully i will be banned because i couldnt care less about this site and i wont ever use it again and i know alot of people feel the same. this isnt a welcoming enjoyable forum at all. I WONT CAPITALIZE i's in all my posts because i dont want to. if the mods want all posts to be prefect then they can go fix them all themselfs. and i WILL give whatever advice i want and any opinion i want because that is how this world works.
NEVER USING THIS SITE AGAIN. but of course because this isnt a free speech or idea site this will be deleted.

THis is a site about the proper care of guinea pigs...Not what your opinion of it is. Some people believe that guinea pigs are happy being kept in a petstore cage and walked on a leash, but that opinion would be incorrect. Best of luck to you.

I do believe sunshine has broken some sort of record for breaking the most rules in a single post. I think I gave her 4 infractions for that first post alone.

I doubt anything more need be said by me. Her post history and reactions here as well speak volumes.

Maybe I am missing something here, but weren't you the one who clicked the sign up button for this site? I don't think any of the mods or helpful members would have signed up such an ignorant person to come here.
I think that it is highly disrespectful of you to even think about saying what you just did to the people on this site let alone actually posting it to the whole world to see.
If you want to end your membership here, just simply DON'T COME BACK!!! The mods are much too busy to be chasing your posts and wondring what you have said to offend the rest of the members here.
I guess sunshine was just another one of "those" members, here to mess around with the mods and members.
*And look, I used proper grammar and punctuation! It took such a long 4 seconds Just thought I should let you know!! :D*

I just need to address this statement since similar things are said as justification for poor care all the time.

Just because you have never had a problem doing things your way doesn't mean you never will.

No one EVER has a problem...until they do.

Take for instance my latest adopter (who is a wonderful woman). When I was questioning her about her feeding/supplement habits I asked her if she used salt/mineral wheels. She stated she does use mineral wheels (and her pigs lick them often). I explained to her why she needs to stop using them with the main reason being that they can cause bladder/kidney stones. She gasped and said that her last guinea pig died from having stones. She feels awful and I had to reassure here that she didn't know how bad they were so can't beat herself up too much. She never thought she had a problem. Even when her pig died she didn't think she had a problem. Once I educated her she understand that she had a HUGE problem. The wheels are gone and she gets to adopt 2 guinea pigs from me.

She did want to know why the GPs licked them so often if they were bad for them and I explained that they often start licking out of boredom and eventually become addicted to the salt in the same was a human can become addicted to salt and sugar.

There have been other pigs that lived long lives with mineral wheels and never developed stones but is that really a risk you want to take? The same goes for feeding cooked/canned/frozen foods. If you are told about proper, better ways to care for your pets by educated, researched and respected owners and rescuers why in the world would you insist that your little shortcuts, methods, wives-tales and opinions are actually better? If you are so certain then please feel free to question it on a neutral and respected health forum like http://guinealynx.info/forums If our advice is wrong they will be happy to correct us and if I give bad advice I would LOVE to be corrected. I do not want to give advice that could possibly cause injury.

When your opinion is something that's potentially harmful to guinea pigs - which in case you haven't noticed, this site is all about - and you're giving that opinion as advice to others, it falls into the category of advice that's unacceptable.

With care like this and an owner with as many anger issues as you clearly have, they may well be on their way. Most people join a forum not to exercise their freedom of speech, but to learn all they can from the forum's members on the forum's topic. Said topic here is guinea pigs, so I'm uncertain why you're so bent out of shape to learn that it might not be perfectly fine for you to spout "advice" that's potentially dangerous to said guinea pigs.

Sunshine. I find it appalling that an adult would come to a guinea pig forum and behave this way. This is the absolute best you can come up with in protest to a moderator telling you that giving bad advice is unacceptable for this forum? Your opinion it may be, it's also, as I said, bad advice, that is unacceptable. Plain and simple.

And if you hate us all so much, why do you feel the need to keep coming back to tell us how much you hate us and list all the horrible things you hope are coming our way? I believe THAT falls into the category of asinine.

It's more than okay to share an opinion here such as "the pattern on your fleece is pretty" or "I prefer aspen over Carefresh", etc. It's not okay when your "opinion" could be potentially harmful. There is a huge difference between opinion and fact. It's your opinion that frozen veggies are okay, but it's a fact that they aren't. It's also quite unbecoming to have a temper tantrum of such magnitude over it.

I for one am happy that the moderators impose the use of proper grammar. It is so refreshing to be able to read a post that isn't in text-talk or misspelled. I give them kudos for that.

Look, sunshine. This site is all about the proper caring of guinea pigs and if you don't like it, you can just leave and stop giving horrible advice to new owners. I am not saying that you are not allowed to express your opinions in this forum and as a matter of fact, you are able to. It is just a matter of fact that your advice about feeding frozen veggies is not for the well-being of guinea pigs. There is no one stopping me from declaring my preference for loose bedding over fleece due to living in an apartment with public washing machines. Ultimately, it is your ignorance that is causing your posts to be censored by the mods. This site is a great resource for guinea pig care and everyone would benefit from it if posts like yours are deleted. Hopefully, you will relax and look at this forum in a different way.
