I would just like to point out myself that I've been here for almost a year and I think the mods are doing a wondeful job! It's people like you Sunshine that come on here and ruin things for everyone. This site is here to help people of ALL ages by giving out advice and helping them in the best way possible for their pigs health and safety. With saying that, your foul mouth is nothing children, who do come on this forum to learn, should be reading. It's irresponsible and downright childish of you.

Trying to give out information is one thing, but having no knowledge about what is coming out of your mouth just doesn't make sense. Learn for yourself before you try to teach others. It clearly states on the top of the forum that if you do not know correct information before giving it out, do not give it out! You could make some little pig sick. Like many others have said, I too am shocked and angered by the words you are inappropiately throwing around. It's an insult to people here who enjoy coming.

When you signed up for this site, you agreed to abide by OUR rules and our TOS. You got some infractions for not following the rules. It is not the moderators' fault that you refuse to capitalize your I's, it is yours. And then you complain about getting infractions for rules you refuse to follow.

Freedom of Speech does not always apply in this forum. We do not allow giving bad advice whatsoever. We also don't allow the discussion of many topics such as politics and religion. This is a private forum in which you have have to register to post so again it goes back to our rules, policies and guidelines and TOS.

The mods are just like any law enforcer ... they're here to make sure everybody is doing what they're supposed to be doing - and apparently they really needed to talk to you, because everybody on this site should be much more mature than you are. If you want to be mature, level-headed, and kind, then we'd welcome you to the site. After this astounding behavior, I don't think so! Pick up your pride and move on! And grow up a little, will you?
This site is a great place for people who want to learn more about guinea pigs, their care, and can ask questions and receive answers. There are community guidelines in place so that we are in a nice, well-kept forum. If you don't agree to the rules, don't come here! And we say "ok" to opinions on this site - unless you're swearing at the moderators just because you're angry! That's unacceptable. I don't know what you are thinking. How is it offensive/annoying to you that the moderators were pointing out that your advice was bad advice - and could potentially harm other guinea pigs? Many people on this site are new to guinea pigs so don't know very much about their care.
Grow up, and thank the mods on here. Without them, our forum would be a mess of chaos and bad things.

This post sums up what is going wrong all over our country. We have a bunch of spoiled brats in this country. Oh wah is me. Someone disagreed with me, so I am going to wish ill will upon them (i.e. curse words) and berate them for it. I am quite tired of it, personally, and wish people (like Sunshine) would grow up.

Oh yea, and don't forget about the "drama" people like this one live for, I mean it's so mentally irresponsible on so many levels. I agree with you that this is the problem with most of our society, with technology running faster than we can keep up, our youth of today are spoiled rotten in many cases, and absolutely can NOT take any type of criticism whatsoever!

MODS keep up the good work, it's a rough job most of the time I can imagine, especially having to deal with people like this!

As far as I can see the mods are doing an absolute fabulous job of moderating this forum. It makes things better for members. As for your first post, Sunshine.....I have no idea what you were initially ranting about: I couldn't understand the post and had to reread it five times before I could understand.Therefore, you can see just why there are rules in place for proper grammatisation and spelling. The mods were also right to warn you about giving improper advice. I have been on this forum for near enough 10 months (some spent lurking) researching before I get my guinea pigs, which at this present time I do not have. How would I feel if someone gave out improper advice about guinea pigs and it led to my guinea-pig being seriously ill or worse? In fact put yourself in another members shoes and see how you would feel if it was your guinea-pig? Personally I would feel devastated. I would have spent all this time researching only to be given false information which has the potential to lead to devastating effects.

Not to beat a dead horse but I thought I would add my two cents - Sunshine, what you suggested might be your opinion (about the frozen veggies) but if that's true, don't offer it cloaked as advice. As someone said, you have the OPINION that frozen veggies are good for the guinea pigs but then there's the FACT that they aren't. When you dole out your opinion disguised as advice, new owners might see that and not knowing any better, may follow it, possibly resulting in health problems for their guinea pig.

There's a reason that the rules are in place. You don't like the rules so you come into the forums and purposely break the rules in your diatribe/temper tantrum. Very mature. I teach Kindergarten and this is exactly what one of my kids will try to get away with when something doesn't go their way. Of course, he doesn't get away with it. There are rules to follow and consequences for not doing so.

This site is beautifully monitered and it is a role model for other forums. The mods are not being mean to you, they are just fufilling their job. Even the best, most respected members got a few messages from the mods. It is just a reminder and a little tap on the shoulder. It is not something you blow up at. Good job mods, you are forever proving your strength by not only keeping this site clean but dealing with posts like this MATURELY and SANELY! Even children under 13 such as myself can be more mature than that. You are being a disgrace to other people in your age group.

I know that mods are here to make sure things go smoothly and I totally agree with them enforcing rules. I do think that however problems like this are blown out of proportion because mods don't delete post like this if the post of removed in the first place none of this fighting would be happening.

Then we get accused of censorship and removing posts that don't agree with us. Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. So, my solution--which I think has worked out pretty well, is to have a special place for these threads so that they don't pollute the main forum. Gives people a chance to vent if they feel the need and for others to chime in as they feel so inclined. Hopefully, when people come into the forum to complain, they can see that others have already said the same thing before them and maybe they'll decide not to post. Regardless, it's okay.

Also, I actually do listen to user feedback. Some policies get adjusted upon occasion, although most don't, because there are good reasons for them.

I couldn't agree with this post anymore if I wrote it myself! I work with a lot of young people and I am constantly astounded at the things they whine about. They feel like they're entitled to everything and they can do and say whatever they want, if it makes them happy, without a moments consideration of anybody else's feelings. (I'm NOT saying all young people are like this, so please, don't anyone be offended!)

I also want to give my OPINION about how much I love this site! If it's possible to be addicted to a forum, I am to this one! I must check it 15x a day! It's been absolutely invaluable to the life of My Babies and I can't even begin to express all my gratitude. I've been here about four years...whatever question or fear I've had, no matter how silly, it's been answered right away. I can't even begin to count how many times I've had a knot in my stomach cause I've been so worried about something...I express my concern here and all my worries are put to rest! Maybe the Mods aren't Vets,but they sure are the next best thing! 100% of the time, if I've had a medical question, I ask here, go to a Vet if needed, tell him what they said here and EVERY SINGLE TIME, it's right on! When he tells me something about their care, he's always surprised that I already know it and is always telling me that he wishes all his patients had this knowledge about piggie care. I told him where I get all my info and now he gives this website to all his 'Piggie Parents"!

And I'm another one that is thankful that the Mods make people use the correct grammer and punctution. I can't count how many forums I've stopped going to because they were so hard to read or sometimes even figure out what was being said!

Another little thing that really ticks me off...My Beloved deceased piggie was named Sunshine!( capital "S" though) Whew!

I have been a member of this site for almost 5 years. There is not a better site anywhere on the web that has better information for the care of GP's. If you take this info alone you are better off for it.
It is also a rescue, non breeding, animal activist site that is trying to make the world a better place for all animals. Even helps us humans be better people. I am a better person for being here.
The mods are fantastic. Have always been. Keeping this forum running as smoothly as it does requires a termendous amount of work. Let alone T, who owns the site. She has put up so much time and her own money. She doens't have to do any of this but she does, for us, GP's. She too has done a termendous job.
It has been stated many times, this site is not for everyone. All is welcome to come and learn but there are rules. The rules have been set for the good of this site and what it stands for. If you are one who disagrees with the rules, and what this site stands for, please move on. You do not have to make a big stink about it, just go.
Those of us who are left will carry on without you. The sad part will be you are missing the best for your pigs.

I can understand that it can be frustrating to write in proper grammatical ways, especially if you're so used to typing in text speak. But you agreed to the rules, if you don't want to follow them then don't sign up. It really isn't hard to hit the shift key occasionally when words need to be capitalized. Honestly nobody really wants to see a bunch of slang or text speak, or a bunch of z's instead of s's. It looks childish and since this forum isn't a child forum, there is no room for it. It makes it hard for others to read your post. There are alot of members on here that don't speak english as a first language and if the mods were to allow us to write like we wanted to using text or slang, then those people would get confused and wouldn't be able to understand us.
