I truly hope that you will stick around and post from time-to-time should you have a question, comment, or concern. If you're ever in doubt about spelling, (I believe?) there should be a spell-check option enabled through this website. Now, don't worry about getting wheeked (warned) for spelling a super-hard word incorrectly. (Example: "Supercallfragilisticexpealledocious!" <~~~haha, that word doesn't even actually exist, but I think you catch my drift.) Generally speaking, if there is a word that is long, has an odd spelling ("I" before "E" except after "C" for example) or a homonymn (word that sounds the same but is usually spelt differently and/or has a different meaning) the moderators are going to understand. They're human, too, afterall, and they've made spelling errors much like the rest of us! As far as capitalization is concerned, when in doubt, just remember to always use "I" in reference to yourself and capitalize the beginning of each statement. Punctuation, well... that's something that I can't really explain or define in words, especially with your dyslexia. As was mentioned somewhere before, just do the best that you can. Thank the Lord that there is no such thing as a mathematically-based forum, or I'd be in BIIIIIG trouble, for sure! I feel you on that! Y=mx+b??? Yeah, I'd rather stub my toe repeatedly into a wall. :-P I voice Poppy's sentiments in welcoming you to the forum. You'll do fine, don't worry. I'm glad you chose to participate in this one. It is arguably, (as in, I'm just stating my opinion here) the top forum for understand and caring for guinea pigs. If you stay long enough, you will make some solid friends here. |

| I know my two, my five and ten times table and thats it, I cannot add anything over two numbers, I carry a calculator everywhere, so yep if this was mathmatically based you would see alot more mistakes. Poppy if thats what you call a hissy fit then you must be a wonderfully calm person, hissy fits in my family usually involve throwing something, anyway mostly I came back cause I felt like a utter idiot and two piggies were glaring at me pratically pointing at the screen "you know what you have to do slave, now suck it up." for some reason in my mind Ginger my one piggy sounds like Mr T. |

Hi there, I am sorry that you have to deal with mood swings. I do not have a disability but I am extremely sensitive and I know how you feel. Every little comment I take seriously, so I know how these mods may seems like they are looming over you. They aren't really, they make this forum great, and you've learned your lesson. Thanks for coming back, I hope you and your piggies will lead happier, healthier lives! |

Welcome back, I understand about being sensitive, I'm a very sensitive person and if I take a comment as an attack it really hurts me. I've mistaken many sarcastic comments from friends as an attack and cried, when I'm usually a sarcastic person by nature. We all have different problems we deal with, some more than others, we just try and make do with what we are given. So good luck and hope that you can browse around and enjoy the this forum. :) |

Your piggies will truly benefit from you being on here. I felt the same way when I first joined here. I was just about to quit too! I got a lot of poos and stuff for not using correct grammer and spelling mistakes. But I realized that these people are really trying to help you. I learned to re-read any long posts I make. Trust me, your piggers will love you (even more then they already do) for being on here. |

I am a sensitive person also and also can not spell well. So I can understand how you feel. Even if you do not post again still read the boards, there is alot to learn here. Even if I do not agree with some of the views expressed on this forum, I can still learn alot about piggies. :) I hope you stay. :) |

I might as well add, hi, I'm Vicky and I messed up too... just in a different way. I got Lucky at a pet store. I fed her a crappy brand. She's been alone for three years. Basically, I took horrible care of her and then I fixed it. Of course the site still welcomed me and I welcome you. Share the love. :) |

Hi there, i had the same problem with you before. The mods sent me several message that told me that I did wrong. At first I was thinking if this forum is very strict and not very welcome to newbie, but then I learned that they did it because they want to make this forum stay on the rules, not all of the newbie are reading the rules and this is another way to make sure they're getting the rules. And I also have some problems with the way they care their piggies which I think they're over-care (it's not bad, actually). But then I realized that they want to do the best for their piggies, and what they told us is only the best suggestion that they can give. If we disagree or we don't want to follow, that's our choice, at least we know what's the best for our piggies. So, I think most of the people here ever have some problems with the mods, the rules, the comments, and another things. But as long as we tolerate each other and we know that we're not all the same, i think everything will be fine. |

I have found this site to be the single most trusted and accurate resource when it comes to making sure I am taking proper care of my girls and giving them the best that I can. I rely on this forum so much; in fact I joined a month or so before I even got my pigs so I could learn some prior to adopting them. I happen to be gifted in the area of spelling, but I think everyone understands that individuals have their areas of strengths and challenges, and I do not think anyone was attempting to directly attack or demoralize you. I have worked with many people with disabilities and understand that at times it seems that the "rest of the world" just doesn't understand, but remember that for many situations, understanding only comes with experience. I have come up against a couple situations on here as well that I thought could have been handled differently or less harshly, but alas, I am not a moderator and it is not my place to decide what should be done to enforce the rules. I understand the mods position that this is an adult forum and should be portrayed as such, and overuse of smiley faces, "chat speak" or lack of punctuation can give a forum a much more inferior and childish feel. However, I do not think that anyone would jump on you for an occasional spelling error or grammar mistake - after all, we are all human, and you have acknowledged that you have challenges in this area. As for the mood swings, I completely understand... I have battled mental illness for quite some time and as a result have terrible self esteem and am very sensitive and take everything personally. I know it is hard not to, but no one here, as harsh as they may seem at times, means any harm to your self esteem or spirit. Everyone here is here for their piggies, and to learn how to best care for them, and that is first priority. I hope you will continue to post, or at least lurk, here, for the sake of your girls. |

| I think this will be my last post here thanks for the support I will watch the threads but wont post any more, its best if I don't, I am posting in another bit more family orientated forum, so mistakes are more forgiven cause they are used to children posting and I am ashamed to say that's more my literacy level. |

Is there a way to not receive emails that a message has been approved, or moved, or some other administrative issue? I don't mind the moderation, but I only want to hear about emails about pig issues. Is there a way to opt out of these mechanical messages? I personally love this site, and am happy that people are so willing to share info so that I can keep my porkers happy. Rog |

As I've told you before, all we really ask is that you make an effort at proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc., and you quite clearly have in your most recent posts and there aren't any problems with any of your posts. As for being "used to children," there are several children here, too, that get along just fine. No one expects perfection here, just an attempt, and you clearly are trying, so there's no reason for you to leave, or stop posting from my perspective. |

Welcome to the forum! Some people told you to 'grow up'....well,in my humble opinion, you proved how 'grown up' you are by sticking around for the sake of your precious piggies! I know plenty of people that I wish were mature enough to put their personal feelings aside for the sake of the 'bigger picture'! Bless you! |

This is really off topic for this thread. It should have been posted in it's own thread. I will answer this question to you in a private message but please in the future, if your questions don't relate to the topic, please start a new thread for them. Thanks. |
