I have posted these photos of my pigs Lenny and Curley and it was deleted several times and I also have been given marks against me for it.I do not understand why when no where does it state that you can not post a picture of your pig in their kitchen (which is a pet store cage being utilized with the construction of my c&c cage) if it is a pet store cage.So I guess you can never take a picture of your pig eating.:confused: Also I was told that I might be feeding food with alot of seeds and color bits, but I am not it has no seed what so ever (cause it can cause choking) and there are no color bits and in the pictures you can see a green pea and some carrot pieces which can be confused for color bits but they are not I do not have very tidy pigs so everything is everywhere and half the times Curley sits in her bin feeder with her treasures like someone will steal them.After all this explaining I am being told that in so many words that oh well to bad I think it is color bits and seeds and no pictures in their kitchens even if they are part of the construction.I don't think I should have to go such lengths to post my pictures of my sweet pigs.

here is the one I posted before I finished it with the ramp to the lower level for my little girl curley.I did state under the picture that is was not finished due to the fact that I did not put the ramp to the lower level in yet and the fleece for the bottom.she is in the bottom in this picture cause it had no ramp yet (husband taking for ever to finish it).Before this I had her in a cage that was made out of those closet racks if you know what I mean and the store cage was her kitchen then too and that is when I took those pictures of them.Then I finally found the cubes and coroplast and was able to make this one.

I have also changed the cage already It is now a 2x4 for curley with another 2x3 for Lenny I still have the store cage attached to his cage for his kitchen though.I liked it better this way cause the ramp was proving to be a pain with taking up space from curley's running and popcorning.

Pictures showing proper care. Please insure that you understand and follow proper care for your pets. If your picture showcases improper food, supplements or care it will get deleted. This includes pictures that show food with seeds, nuts, dried fruit/veggies or colored bits in it, seed treats and salt/mineral licks.

Your photos are clearly of pigs that are in a petstore cage. Not allowed in the galleries.
Also it shows one of those edible logs which are bad for pigs. We don't recommend those. You also have some kind of mixed food in the background.

So anyone can debate the photos, but the bottom line is that they cannot be placed in our photo galleries because of our rules.

I'm sorry if you don't like it but our rules are clearly posted.

One no I do not have a mix food. I clearly stated what it was and two so what if the pigs kitchen is a pet store cage as long as it is not their main cage there is no rule for that.There are plenty of cages utilizing pet store cages in the construction on this site.I follow the rules.I guess I can never take a picture of either of my pigs if they are eating and put it on here then.That is crazy.

oh and about the edible log thing you don't recommend them but there is no rule saying that just cause you don't recommend them people can't use them.I have also seen plenty of those in photos too so I don't think that has anything to do with it.I don't remember anyone else being in my house feeding my pigs or buying their food so how can you just assume you know better then the owner.Is it policy to call people a liar just cause you say so? And just so you know I would have to take a big picture of the whole cage and you wouldn't be able to see the pig in it, but I guess you don't care as long as you can see the whole cage.That is stupid.

Then what is that stuff in the box in the background of the second photo? It looks like a box with mixed stuff in it. Also I told you that those edible logs are bad/improper and we don't allow improper things to be shown in photos. Those logs are "edible" thus fall under improper food. If you have seen other photos with those in the cages, then you need to report them so those photos can be removed as well.

Yes there is and I just cited it to you. What you did was post photos of your pigs in that part only, which again, is NOT allowed.

You can take photos of your pigs in the main part of their cage or outside the cage but if you post any photos showing only the petstore part, they will get deleted.

You should go back to the first post and read it then if you don't know what it is cause I already stated what it is so just cause you have your own ideas doesn't mean i'm a liar it just means you want to believe what you want.Guess what when you become a vet let me know cause I find it interesting that just cause you feel it is improper that the whole GP world must too.That is not how it works and there are other photos of them and That is why I feel there is no problem with it in my photo.You can not single people out and adjust the rules (which is what that is )to suit your situation.My god it is like you are being the Hitler of the GP world.That is so wrong.You are not god and you do not know all.I'm sorry but sometimes people need to take a step back and look at how they treat people.One person put a bad taste in your mouth and now you jump on anyone who gets in your way.

This site is about what is in the BEST interests of our guinea pigs. And I never stated that I know everything about guinea pigs. The rules were not adjusted in any way, shape or form. It's you that has the problem with them.

I will not report anyone. If you guys are doing your job and are so perfect and know what is proper and improper then guess what you need to get rid of someone cause they clearly did not look at what is being put up on this site.This what I mean you go crazy on someone for stating a fact but then want me to do the work for you.I don't think people come to this site to be barked at by people I think they come here looking for help or looking for people who love GP's as much as they do,but I can tell you I have seen a lot of the Mod here bark at people instead of trying help them and to see that they are people trying to do the best for their piggy.I think you don't care about that unless they do what you want them to and how you want them to do it. I didn't bash you but you have made derogatory comments towards me and other mods. Oh well, not the first time someone has done that. I only explained and linked the rules to you since you clearly did not understand when VJ repeatedly told you that petstore cage pictures were not allowed in the galleries when she removed them on a couple occasions. So you have resorted to name calling, derogatory remarks and bashing others yourself.

I don't think anyone is "bad" but a lot of people don't know how to properly care for their furry friends so that's why we are here, to help them learn. But every so often someone gets disgruntled for whatever reason and they resort to stuff like what has happened here on this thread.

I've moved this to the "why can't we all get along forum" mainly because it's turned into a "bash the mods" type thing.

That's a box of cheerios in the background of the second picture, it looks like a special flavor maybe or a imitation cheerios. I haven't bought regular cheerios in forever, so I'm more familiar with the special flavors boxes LOL.

If you can see close enough in the picture, you can see the spoon, and a bit of milk splashing on the spoon.

You shouldn't have to go to any lengths at all. You should just give posting some photos of your pigs in the main part of the cage a shot, if it's so important that they have photos posted. How hard could that possibly be?

Someone perusing the galleries has no way of knowing from looking at the first two photos that your pigs don't live in a pet store cage. That would spare you having to go through a long-winded explanation that nothing in the photo is really as it seems.

yes the box in the second photo is a cereal box and it is being used as a hay holder.I found that idea on this site thought that is a great use for empty boxes.You can clearly see the Alfalfa in the box.If this is not what you are talking about then the other one was explained in a previous post for curley the white and brown pig in the second photo.I was new here and did not even know how to really navigate through the site to get where I want to go.I did post pictures of curley in the cage shot and they deleted that too cause they said " This a picture of an incomplete cage and does not show how they get to the lower level " even though right under that picture in the description I stated it was not finished since the ramp was not in yet, but you can see the piggy in the bottom part of the cage.Again I was told it was improper which was not the case and I was only given that explanation after about five times or more of me getting the message with about four to five possible reasons of it being removed which did not apply to me.So after all that , I ask you why can't anyone (the two mods) just be nice from the start instead of talking down to you from the start.I said several times that had you just said to me from the start that if you want to post those pictures its fine but it has to be done in the forum and you can post pictures of the pigs either outside the cage or in the main cage in the gallery that is fine as well, but not just in the store cage since it makes it look like that is the only house they have.I think that would have been a better way to handle this not the way they did from the start with talking down to me.So yes I did get a little nasty, but what goes around comes around.If you can dish it out you better be ready to take it.So sorry if I insulted anyone, but I am one of those people that is very honest and to the point.That makes me a person some people may not want to ask for an honest opinion cause you might not like the answer.So again sorry.Great site, but when handleing situations in the future think before you say something cause how you phrase it can come back to be a headache like this.

I'm uncertain why this is causing so much confusion and grief, but the plain and simple fact of the matter is that this forum and website promote proper cages for our guinea pigs - whether it's a C&C cage or an alternative that meets sizing requirements - and does not include pet store cages because pet store cages are too small.

The photos of your guinea pig in a pet store cage were deleted simply because they violate a rule. You weren't the first and you certainly won't be the last person to have a photo removed. Your photos that did show a proper cage setup were not deleted. It's very simple.

I understand that the pet store cage is part of a larger cage that is properly sized, but the picture alone doesn't give any indication that your pet store cage kitchen area is part of a larger cage.

Part of the problem is that photos from the gallery are pulled and put on a random rotation in each of the forums, and people go to the galleries to get ideas, and if we allowed a photo of a pig in a pet store cage to stay, folks might get the impression that a pet store cage is appropriate for a guinea pig, and that is not the message this forum wants to send.

You're most certainly welcome to take pictures of your guinea pigs outside the cage or in the C&C portion of the cage and repost. They won't be deleted and perhaps we can all move on with our lives then.

I want to just say thank you to you.I understand what you are saying,but they did remove my full cage pictures as well because voodoojoint said it is a picture of an improper cage cause there was no ramp to the lower level even though I did wright in the discription that it was not finished due to there is no ramp yet to the lower level.You can see that the piggy is in the bottom of the cage and that I put more food and hay down below since my husband did not finish my ramp yet.

I see. When I looked yesterday the only photos that had been removed were the ones that only showed a pig in a pet store cage.

In any event, you are more than welcome to post pictures of the finished cage, and they won't be deleted as long as they are appropriately sized cages portraying proper care.
