This is me venting, so feel free to NOT wheek me again. I got wheeked for putting up a pic of my pig cage because it wasn't the same stuff advertised on the site. Capitalism YUMMY! If the description would be read about my cage, I put it up there for advise on what I need to do for my pig. Believe it or not, I put my pigs well-being ABOVE capitalism. My pig > than C&C advertisement. I got wheeked for trying to cheer someone up because it wasn't relevent to the post, I think I actually got pooped on for that one. And I got wheeked for adding a sig, when I was just signing my name at the bottom of a post. That's called letter writing. It's a grammar thing, check it out. |

I don't want to be rude or anything, but the mods on this site work extremely hard to keep everything safe and cavy-related. Have you read all the stickies that say "Newbies, read first!", or something along those lines? Maybe if you did, then you wouldn't have any problems with the mods. |

If cheering someone up isn't allowed because I did not discuss my pig in it, then there is clearly something wrong with the rules, not me. If my cage for my pig isn't pig related... well... someone needs a catscan. And I put my name at the end of posts about my pig. It is pig related. And no, I didn't read those things. I find them irrelevent. I practice acceptable social skills except for my use of foul language which I have apologized for and changed, so I hardly see why I would need to read those things. |

If your social manners are acceptable, then how come you keep getting corrected by mods whom are far older and more experienced than you? Cheering up someone is allowed, except taking things far off-track the subject of the thread is, as far as I know, not permitted. So, these threads are irrelevent? I fail to see how they are irrelevant to you, but every other newbie reads them and finds them to be useful. They are the *rules*, Jester. Rules apply to everyone, including you. [Edit] Can you give me the link to the thread about the whole "cheering up" thing? I looked for it, but I can't find it. Thanks. Last edited by dra&pigs; 12-07-08 at 09:33 am. Reason: Adding Edit |

Well to clear the cage thing up, if it's a cage, that isn't appropriate size, they dont want it posted here because this site is about making an appropriate cage for the pigs. Also if you had read the post rules made by Ly you would have seen that signing your name or pigs name at the bottome of posts, called a "signature" isn't allowed. Quote:

Since this isn't a recreational chatroom, but a Cavy Forum instead, rules do apply and for good reason. |

If you'd read the rules of this forum, you'd realize that all the things you mentioned are violations of them. Also if you'd read the rules, you'd probably have known not to do any of those things in the first place, or if you did, at least you'd understand why you were "wheeked" or "impacted" or what have you. You don't have to agree with the rules here to participate, but you do have to follow them, because the owner of the site and the other mods want it that way. It may not seem fair, but it's their site, not ours, and they get to make the rules. And I'm sorry, but you can't say you find those rules "irrelevant" and then complain when people have a problem with you violating them. |

Jester, I have been on this site for a number of years. The "mods" try very hard to keep this site open and useable for all who come here. There are rules because there is quite a few children who come here looking for help with their GP's. There are also many of different languages so how things are written will help all who read threads. This site is based on C&C cages. It is one of the main reasons T started the site. An easy but wonderful cage for all piggies. Plus what is the best why to raise a GP. There is so much false info out there. There is not a better site anywhere on the web for the care of GP's. The "mods" really do a wonderful job of keeping it all together. This is a prolife site, a rescue site for not just GP's but for all animals. It is a lifestyle that many of us use thru out our whole lives. Many newbies who come on do not realize it is so much more. That is why the newbie threads are there. To explain the rules and all that this site stands for. There is a wealth of info for not only the best for your piggie but for yourself. Please take the time to explore and you will not regret it. This site loves newbies and all that you do have to offer, but it is a two way street, you need to learn also. Keep reading. |

No, I refuse to read the rules. I REFUSE! Viva la resistance, and I'm not even french! Quote:
I'm a National Socialist, or Nazi for those of you who don't know that they are the same. However, this isn't a forum for politics, this is a forum for pig-demons and other animals. I'd appreciate it if you did not question the quality of my social skills anymore. I appreciate this site, and the people on it, whether they annoy me at one point or another. I just took offense to what you said and I still appreciate your input, however this site is not a necessity to my life. There are other pig sites. I've even done a little research and found sites that have AnimalHouse on them. He's been the most helpful to me so far, giving extremely helpful input on each of my threads. This site is great, but it isn't the only one. |

When did anyone ever say it was the only one? You'll find that those other forums have rules too, like 'em or not. |

It really is a shame you will not take the time to read. There really is so much to learn and enjoy. I have spent hours reading all the differnt threads. I still learn so much from all of the members. Please do not bring up politics or nazis. It could get you banned and then you will be unable to come on at all. |

I'm sorry, I was trying to make a point. I got a little frustrated and got off topic. I will try to not do that anymore. This thread was intended to be a light hearted venting thread. I thought that was the purpose of "You're All So Mean" but apparently it's become pretty hot. I even put in a childish ''complaint'' for a thread name. Hopefully when a mod sees the thread they will lock or even remove the thread. I hate it when things get all heated. |

Jester, One thing you will find, is members are very passionate about this site and our "mods" One of the hard things about writing is, you cannot see the person's face who is doing the writing. You cannot judge tone of voice or gestures. So at times, things do not come across the way it was intended. Thank you for the apology it does bring the tone down quite abit. Please stay, read, learn and become as passionate as most of us are. You seem passionate as to what you believe in. That is good, but, politics, God, various beliefs or not in God, are not allowed. This is a GP site after all. As you metioned there are other sites for those type of things, we here are just crazy about GP's and animals. If you do like to get heated, The Kitchen is for that. Believe me, it can get HOT in there. |

Well good luck to you on this forum. I said this site is to advocate appropriate cage size, posting one under the limit is unacceptable to the forum. You could have just as easily said what you have in a thread and asked how to improve it, not through a picture. The gallery is to help people visually see how to make an appropriate cage, and get ideas from others, posting one that is of no help to anyone is not allowed, if you had read the rules. Also if you read the stickies on the rules you would have seen this Quote:

Obviously you did not view the comments on my cage pictures. I was given a comment on the hay dispenser that I was using. The person knew which despenser I was using because of the picture. Apparently this dispenser could be potentially harmful to my pig. Without that picture, I would not have known that. Would the moderators enjoy harm coming to my pig? (Answering yes to that will only send me into a volatile cussing spree) I love my pig, and I want to help him. |

Jester, I don't like the rules either, but whatever, I follow them because I don't want to be banned since this really is the best guinea pig site and is extremly helpful. Actually, I don't think I've read them rules either, I generally don't read any forum's rules, but I know they must be strict and I like 'freedom of speech' so.. |
