So by that statement, all you're doing is acknowledge that the animal is aware of it's surroundings and acts accordingly.

I never said anything to the contrary. If you bothered to read my posts where I discussed my hutches with Ly, you'd not only know how big they are, but they are bigger than any recommendations made on this site about housing sizes, so take your self-righteous indignation, and tell it to someone who gives a damn.
My indignation started when you began to defend a wooden hutch which Percy's Mom deemed insuitable because it was made of wood. I honestly don't want to read your posts because I really don't like your ways. And I said if I were an animal. I'm not. I have a bigger capability to think for myself. AND to react. If my house is not to my liking then I can very well move, not the same for a caged animal which has to live in an environment provided by it's owner.

Being that this is a private forum, even though we don't restrict who is allowed to become a member, we are allowed to have rules and things that we will and will not allow people to advocate or discuss. You argue just to argue, and now you've come to the point where people aren't agreeing with you, so you got ugly. Whatever you might think of our opinions, that will NOT happen.
Boo Fricking Hoo! Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is THE KITCHEN, where people are allowed to debate controversial topics? Yes? No?
If you (as moderators) cannot accept that people do not agree with you, and are going to voice their opinions, and all you can do is ban them, then you ARE narrow-minded hypocrites, because you clearly lack the courage of your convictions to actually defend them from criticism or contradiction.
Again, untill I see people posting vetinary degrees in their titles, then NONE OF YOU should be giving out medical information, and telling other not to, is once more, hypocrissy.
You wonder why this forum has such a lousy reputation? Take a good long look at it and the debates raised, and maybe, you'll see it.

Rarely drops below freezing? Now, while I live in Scotland and accept it is generally colder here there is RARELY a week goes by from November to March where we don't have at least one day get below zero. I remember several posts on another forum last year with people having a panic all over England because temperatures had plummeted well below zero for over a week. One of my friends in Yorkshire noted it was a positively balmy -10C at the start of the year.

In the past few years in my part of the country (central Scotland, not nearly the coldest part) I've noted temperatures of 34C (yes, you read that right, I actually went outside with a thermometer because I didn't believe it) and one winter not so long ago where it registered -25C in my mother's greenhouse. Where you live in the UK is NOT representative of the general population.

How on earth can you give a cavy the attention it deserves outside? Bring it inside and risk temperature fluctuations? Or sit outdoors with it for hours on end? I'm also seriously disturbed at the number of instances I've seen of break-ins into sheds in recent times, one of which resulted in the deaths of the residents. Yes, I'm clearly risking the lives of my cavies - what exactly is the comfort zone of cavies with regards to temperature, please, if 20C is too warm?

I just want to let everyone know that it does frequntly drop to below freezing in the winter in the UK. I know that GuineaFood lives in England, and I am in Scotland. However I lived 2 hours north of London for two years, and it froze regularly in the winter (which can be 'wintery' between October and April). When it isn't freezing, it's more often rainy and wet - and more worrying for guinea pigs, windy. Whilst guinea pigs need good ventilation, draughts can be fatal.

I've approved this post of yours, but it will likely be one of the last. I am also going to temporarily close this thread. I will open it back up later.
