Talking New forum stats at the top

Well, it's pretty obvious. I think it's pretty cool. Please let me know if anyone has any troubles with it. You can click the pull-down at the top left of the stats and see more listings.

Cheers!

Re: New forum stats at the top

I also should mention, that if you take a look at the pull-down menu on the two sections to the right, there are a variety of other statistics you can look at for fun, too!

Thanks! By the way, the "Reload" option disappears for 60 seconds after you hit it; you have to wait that long before it allows you to reload the statistics.

Just wondering about a post title...

This is just a test post of a post title change.

Re: New forum stats at the top

Is there a way to make the top 5 stats minimized? Like something I could click that would make it go away, and then something I could do to make it come back if I ever wanted to?
Also, the time are in military time, which I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't really understand them. We should use regular time, no offense. If it's easier for you to read military time for some reason, than so be it, but it's a bit annoying.

Anyways, I know you're working on it and still experimenting, but I think that maybe the top 5 stats is a bit much, and users should at least have the option of not having them appear on the page, and then also be able to make them reappear whenever they want to.

There is a way. It's in the top left of the box.

Re: New forum stats at the top

Oh, and military time is easy. I have to use it at my job driving busses, but before that I thought it was hard too. It's actually better she uses that as most of the rest of the world uses military time, at least Quebec, Canada does. I use some easy to remember time points:

3:00 = 15 (when school gets out)
6:00 = 18 (3/4 through the day or 6x3)
8:00 = 20 (I don't know, this one just clicks for some reason)
10:00= 22 (two hours before the 24 hours is up)

Re: New forum stats at the top

As noticed, yes, you can either minimize the display (far right, button, just like in a LOT of frames on the forum), or on the pull-down option, just turn it off completely.

I'll look into changing the time. I'm so used to it, I didn't even really notice it.
Thanks,
T

Re: New forum stats at the top

There you go, the time is fixed.

Personally, I love being able to see the latest posts without having to scroll down through the forum. Also, just hitting the reload button is a much faster way to refresh the list and see if there are any new posts since the last time you looked.

But I know it's pretty big and new. But, you have the option, so I hope that works for you.

Cheers,
T

Re: New forum stats at the top

By the way, I just experimented with turning OFF the top stats. When you do, in case you don't read it fast enough, you can turn them back on again by going into your "Quick Links" menu. Turning them off completely removes that section from your display.

Pretty cool I think.

Well you are not used to it that is the problem. In Europe, instead of putting AM and PM they just number the hours. A day has 24h. When you say meet you up at 12 you know it is afternoon, when you say meet up at 24 or 00:00 you know it is the midnight hour. So when it passes 12 (afternoon) you start numbering ahead 13, 14, 15 and so on, for the afternoon hours. No big deal.

T, great job on the new features!
