Sorry about the slower forum access lately. I need to upgrade the server. I'm talking to my host provider about the options. I'll keep you posted.

My upgrade is scheduled, but my hosting company is waiting for new equipment to arrive. It's going to be a couple of weeks. So hang in there, please!

My computer is from the paleozoic era, so I thought the problem was on my end!

Keep up the good work! This website is worth any patience that it may take for it to remain as good as it is!

Well, they got the equipment in and have already moved everything to the new server. Sooooo, if we still have problems, then I'm going to have to go to a dedicated server which is going to double my hosting to $400 a month. I'm hoping this will be good, but I'm willing to spend the money if I need to.

It's not really that bad, when it doesn't load I actually get some work done!

If it doesn't speed up, you may need to kvetch to your provider, sometimes they can move you to a server with lower-traffic neighbors. Our work website used to take FOREVER to load, and I complained and complained enough and they finally moved us off of the server we were on, which was apparently shared with 3-4 giant, high traffic sites. No more problems.

I've decided it's not the server that's the problem. I'm doing too many queries on the forum home page. Soooo, some stuff's gotta go. I'm starting with the rss feed of the adoptables from GPH.

Let's see if that makes a difference for a day or two.

If it wasn't for that feed, I would have never known about the pig I'm adopting tomorrow. And also, I'm lucky I saw it at work, because I can never get that feed to load on my computer at home, at least not on firefox. Maybe on IE but I hardly ever use it so I don't know.

Well, first I need to see if that technology is causing the problem. I agree I thought it was very important info, but maybe I can find a better way IF that's part of the problem. It could also be the extra who's been online over the last 24 hours list at the bottom of the forum.
