The gallery is open.

You may now upload photos of your guinea pigs PROVIDED that you put them in the proper category: Guinea Pigs or Memorial.

Surfing photos should be a little easier now, too, I think.

I have more layout changes to make, but I needed to get the gallery back up.

I am very happy that I get to stop deleting all of the wonderful pet photos and handing out wheeks. I never liked doing it and would much rather enjoy the photos.

I just wanted to add:

For cage photos, one of the data elements I've been tracking is the cage size. You need to add a cage size definition to your photo.

For guinea pig photos, you need to indicate from the list, where you obtained your guinea pig(s).

For memorial pig photos, you need to indicate the age of your deceased guinea pig--as well as you know it. We can start keeping track of some interesting statistics or trends that way!

So far, the only limit is 5 uploads per day for slaves and I think 10 for cavy stars and champions.

Thank you so much for that. People had wanted to see pictures of my new boy and I was having trouble working with Photobucket. Now I can show him off. It's a great idea.

I am enjoying all of the wonderful pet pictures in the gallery but I ask that you all pay attention to the rules when posting them.

The rules have been relaxed to allow the addition of pet pictures but that does not mean that the other rules have been relaxed as well. Please do not place pictures of animals in inappropriate cages in the gallery. I have had to delete a couple today because they featured pet store bought cages that are much too small for comfortable living. I especially hate having to delete pictures out of he Memorial forum. If all you have are pictures of your pet in a petstore cage then at least crop it to the point that you cannot tell that it is in an inappropriate cage.

I noticed that if you click the 'FAQ' link next to the 'My profile' link, it has one question about adding pictures of just your guinea pigs to the gallery, that may want to be updated.

Just posting another reminder of the gallery rules. Today I had to delete several more photos and that simply shouldn't be happening as often since the gallery rules relaxed.

NEW photos I had to delete were:
-2 pictures showing petstore cages
-1 showing a nice cage but the picture was on it's side
-1 of a same-old-same-old hidey house that was also blurry
-supply pictures that we already have examples of

Please take the time to read the gallery rules and think about what you are posting. I don't like having to be the bad guy an really don't enjoy deleting your pictures. Gallery rules are below.

PLEASE NOTE:
Proper size and SAFE! Your cage MUST provide a GROUND floor (or bottom level) space of at least 7.5 SQUARE FEET--REGARDLESS of upper levels provided. Your cage must be an INDOOR cage. Outdoor runs and play areas are acceptable, but not cages or hutches.

No commercial or pet store cages! Under any circumstances. If you have some great purchased cage that meets our cage requirements, please post about it in the forums and get permission to post a photo of it first.

Not another Cozy or Hidey House Photo! We are looking for EDUCATIONAL or INFORMATIONAL photos. Others browse the galleries looking for IDEAS and examples. We really don't need another cozy photo. Pictures of your appropriate cage or unique accessory or toy or other related photo are more than welcome.

Clear, crisp, well lit photos only! If your picture is blurry, dark or on it's side or if we can't clearly see or tell what the picture is of it will be deleted.

Place pictures in the proper section. If you misfile a picture it will get moved or deleted.

Pet pictures are allowed but you must place them in the appropriate section and they must be of guinea pigs. We will not accept other animals in the photos.

No pictures of guinea pigs cohabitating with other animals. If you upload a photo of a pig sharing living space or floor time with another species, such as a rabbit or chinchilla, it will be deleted.

I don't suppose there's any chance of having a warning taken off your record if it was for an inappropriate gallery picture now that the rules have changed, is there?

It's just floating there like a frigging scarlet A every time I go to my profile.
