Looking for a good argument

In my english class we are writing argument essays. I have decide to write mine on why people should become vegetarians. Does anyone know of any really good web sites that have good strong points that I could use. I also need to look at the opposit side of the argument (the benifits of eating meat). Since you guys are vegetarians I thought maybe you would have some insite on some really good websites. Anything will help. Thanks!

Re: Looking for a good argument

Who gives us the right to make the decision to eat animals? How can we eat some animals but then pet animals? Some questions who can think about...

I think www.peta.org (is that the right URL?) has some good information

Re: Looking for a good argument

Definitely check out PETA at www.peta.org - especially look at their vegetarian websites (Carrot2004.com Carrot2004.com FishingHurts.com GoVeg.com JesusVeg.com KFCCruelty.com LettuceLadies.com MassKilling.com MeetYourMeat.com MilkSucks.com PETAEats.com UnhappyCows.com VegetarianStarterKit.com . You can even get a free vegetarian starter kit, which may help you with your essay.

Also FARM (Farm Animals Reform Movement) is a great organization. www.farmusa.org

In Defense of Animals is another good site - www.idausa.org
www.upc-online.org (United Poultry Concerns)
www.hfa.org (Humane Farming Assocation)
www.farmsanctuary.org (Farm Sanctuary)
www.earthsave.org (EarthSave International)
www.ivu.org (international vegetarian union)
www.mercyforanimals.org (Mercy For Animals)
www.navs-online.org (North American Vegetarian Society)
www.pcrm.org (Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine)
www.vegetarianusa.com/ (VegetarianUSA)

You might also want to try some books .... 2 that are good are "A Diet for a New America" by John Robbins and "Animal Liberation" by Peter Singer.

Let me know if these aren't enough or what you're looking for. I know of more.
