Lightbulb Great Logic Behind Vegetarians

Hey everybody who is considering going vegetarian I just wanted to keep you motivated by telling you that not only are you doing good by helping animals from being slaughtered but its also more environmentally beneficial.

The United States has been eating from the meat band wagon for years. And right now we are coming into an age when developing countries are becoming more interested in eating meat products, namely China and India.

The fact of the matter is that most of the energy comes from the sun. The plants transform the smallest percentage of that into consumable energy. A majority of their energy is put into their upkeep. Then a small amount can be passed on to herbivores (plant-eaters) and omnivores (plant- and meat-eaters) when they consume the plants. Much of that energy consumed from plant material is dedicated to maintaining metabolic upkeep of that consumer. Now comes along other omnivores, carnivores (meat-eaters) and us humans who eat those animals below them in the food chain and an even smaller portion, a silver, is passed on for energy to the next trophic level (the meat eaters).

Now routing this all back to the planet, there is a greater environmental stress on the planet to continue consuming meat products. Realistically there is now way our little planet can support everybody on it as a carnivore. We humans are omnivores and can choose where we get our energy sources from, plants, animals or both. This is pretty cool for us.

I personally eat meat occasionally, although after thinking through this, I am going to begin limiting my meat in meal choices. Thought I would share a little bit of info with the vegetarian crowd. Hope you enjoy
