Almost four years ago, on February 26, 2005, I heard some things about the meat industry that turned my stomach. I was 12. I came onto this forum and asked some questions, and made the final decision. I was going to become veg. Unfortunately, my parents tried to convince me that they didn't really hurt animals that much, which I naively believed. Then I came back on here and said that, and many of you corrected me. I didn't like it then, but I appreciate it so much. It made me stop and listen. I didn't give up.
2 years later when I was 14, I went veg. Once again my parents hated it. After 3 months, they made me eat meat again. I used to be very conservative and deferred to absolutely everything they said. I just caved because it was easier. One year ago this week I put my foot down. I made use of my Aries stubbornness and just said "Okay, enough of this! I am vegetarian." If it hadn't been for this forum, I would probably still be eating meat. I don't know if any of you from 4 years ago are still around, but I am celebrating one year, and I couldn't be happier!
