Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Hi everyone, My mother has a job interview comming up, she has a list of things she will need to know. One of the things she needs to know is what tofu is and how to prepare it as a meat substitute. She needs to know how to use it in dishes like spaghetti and anything else where ground beef would be used. I have done a lot of searches and what I have seen looks pretty complicated and the recipes look a lot more difficult than what she would need. Can someone help with this? Can someone put it in simple terms so that she can answer it in a job interview? There are so many methods listed online that I don't know what to tell her to use. Thanks in advance. Also, if anyone knows how many noodles, tofu and canned sauce she would use to prepare spaghetti for 2300 people that would be appreciated too. I'm having some trouble there as well. I think I've figured it out to be 575 lbs of noodles, but I'm not sure about the tofu and sauce. Thank You. |

One of the ways to use tofu in spaghetti is to use an extra firm block and mash it with a fork so that it sort of resembles the texture of ground beef. Then just add it to your sauce. I would have no clue how much it would take to feed that many people though!! |

Thank you, I think I have figured out the amounts. I am stuck on one thing though, how much tofu would you use to replace 1 lb of ground beef? I keep finding different answers. Thank you for your answer. |

I totally think it depends on preference. I'm not a huge tofu eater, so I would use less than someone else might. |

This site may be helpful, there seems to be a lot of recipes with using tofu or faux meat. www.vegcooking.com I hope it does help. |
