Going Vegan

I've tried it numerous times in the past, and the longest I've ever been able to go was three months.

I would really like to be able to stick to it, but I find chocolate is my weakness. I hate the torture and suffering that goes on, and I want to stop supporting it.

Any tips or suggestions on how to keep myself going?

Re: Going Vegan

I find this forum a great support and a wealth of information www.veganforum.com
I've been vegan for 3 years now but I was vegan 10 years ago then stopped. What's made it easier for me this time is learning to cook and bake yummy vegan cakes. I'm always collecting recipes I see posted online and I made a file of my favorites and the quick and easy ones I use regularly. Its much better than relying on vegan convenience foods which often contain high salt levels and are expensive.

Most dark chocolate is vegan. (Be sure to check the ingredients though just in case.)

Re: Going Vegan

Is there any type of milk chocolate that is vegan?

I love milk chocolate - and it's the only chocolate I eat.

Re: Going Vegan

Milk isn't vegan so no, but Organica Swiss Couverture tastes like milk chocolate.

Re: Going Vegan

Plamil make some but I'm not too keen on it. I've just remembered that there's an orange and rice crackle bar made by Humdinger. Those are nice and you can get them from the 'free from' section in some supermarkets.

Re: Going Vegan

For really good chocolate try Cacao Bliss. You can eat it like it is, make your own truffles, use it as spread. I make my own nut milk and it is good added to it for chocolate milk. I get it from Rebecca's Natural Foods. Here is a link that will take you to places that sell it.
