Help with Thai Food

I'm going to a concert on Monday and before the concert we're going to a Thai restaurant. I've never had Thai food before and was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of vegetarian dishes that I can order? Or stuff that looks vegetarian but isn't?

Re: Help with Thai Food

The main thing to look out for with Thai is that they use fish sauce in almost everything -- in a similar way to how the chinese use soy sauce.

Your best bet might be to call the restaurant in advance and find out what dishes they have that either are vegetarian or can be made vegetarian. You can ask when you get there too, of course, but often it's easier and more comfortable to have figured it out in advance.

Re: Help with Thai Food

Most Thai restuarants have options for many of the dishes listed. i.e. Beef, Chicken, Vegetarian, Tofu. So you can order the dish the way you like.

I've ordered Pad Thai - Vegetarian and they always ask me if the scrambled egg is ok.
