Master Cleanse

Well I'm taking the plunge into the 10 day master cleanse. I really just feel gross, like I don't eat enough "pure" foods. I do eat lots of veggies, but many times I mix them with highly processed foods. Like for lunch I had peas and noodles (the kind you get in the box with milk, butter, and powder fake cheese). I want to feel satisfied with pure, fresh foods and whole grains. Six months ago I ate far better, so I just feel like I'm slipping.

I also want to at least majorly cut down my dairy intake as I mentioned in a recent thread. Many people report that after cleansing their bodies of toxins they crave fresh foods and find processed foods to be gross.

I am doing the classic master cleanse with the lemon juice/cayenne/syrup mixture. I am starting this weekend because I will be able to be home to experience all the unpleasantries that involve the toilet, which are allegedly part of the initial couple days.

I was wondering if anyone here as done a cleanse, or has known someone who did. What were your results?

Re: Master Cleanse

Can you post a link to the site you are using? Id like to try it. Also, do you put all the weight you took off back on?

Re: Master Cleanse

I found the information in "The False Fat Diet" book. You should be able to get it at your local library.

Re: Master Cleanse

Ortal, you can find the main site at TheMasterCleanse.com. It is based on a book by Peter Glickman, and there are all sorts of other websites that discuss it. (Just google it). It's not really promoted as a weight loss strategy, although you do lose some weight. I think you gain much of it back though. It's more of a detox than weight loss regimine.

As a Disclaimer: I am not advocating that anyone start this or any other cleanse withought consulting a medical professional. My main point in posting is to get others' experience with it, not to necessarily recommend it.
