Question Question.

I have been a vegetarian ever since sometime in June. Well just a little while ago I did some research and stuff in something and figured out that I was changing my decision. My question was do you guys view that it is wrong not to be a vegetarian or just a personal choice?

Re: Question.

I don't think it is wrong, it is a personal choice. It is up to each individual.

Re: Question.

I agree, it is a personal choice. There is nothing more repellant than someone trying to force their viewpoints on you.

Re: Question.

It is a personal choice. And mine is being a vegan. I don't believe in eating something that once had a beating heart, had a family, and can love another living thing. The slaughtering industry is sickning and it's somthing I would never support.

Re: Question.

I'm assuming that most people quit eating meat because they believe something about it is wrong. Either it's wrong morally or ethically or environmentally or it's wrong for your health, etc. etc. Personal choices usually stem from personal moral/ethical beliefs.

Believing something is wrong doesn't necessarily equate shoving your believes upon someone else.

Re: Question.

A personal choice. My boyfriend eats meat though we try to buy free range. He is very protective of me being a vegatarian. It is more common where I live though.

Re: Question.

For me it was a personal choice, I just didn't want to "kill" animals anymore by eating meat and supporting all the cruelty involved in the meat and fish industry. I watched some videos and I just couldn't bear to meat anymore knowing about all the suffering and pain an animal went through. I've always been an animal lover, and hate seeing anything suffer (even a bug!) so becoming a vegetarian was a way for me to make a difference, even if I am one person among millions of people who do eat meat.

Honestly though, it's your choice, no one should force you to be one. I became one by myself, no one expressed their vews too much, or gave their opinions about it. Even though either way, I think I would have became one.

Re: Question.

I think it's wrong to eat meat. If it were just a personal choice that had nothing to do with right vs. wrong, I'd a have a heaping plate of orange chicken right now. That being said, I do not look at omnivores with hostility. I think they're making a poor decision in eating meat, but I certainly don't treat anyone meanly because of it. I really don't even talk about vegetarianism unless the omnivore brings it up. I think many people are simply ignorant, and are just doing what they're used to.

Re: Question.

Ok, but if I may ask...mine is for religious reasons. Do you think that it is still a poor choice by me and do you think I'm ignorant for going back? Because I would of remained a vegetarian but found some stuff revolving around my religion. Do you still think it's a poor choice and I'm ignorant?

Re: Question.

I don't know enough about the details of your situation to specifically comment on it. I definately wouldn't classify you as ignorant, because you've obviously educated yourself about the topic of meat eating.

Re: Question.

I do think it's a personal choice. I have friends who went back to eating meat, though theirs were mostly health reasons. However they made the decision to be more conscious of what they eat, rather than take it for granted. There are people out there who are ignorant and greedy. Most people likely eat a lot more meat than they need. I think if you have educated yourself and eat only what your body needs then you are not ignorant.
