Unhappy Ill Piggy Found

I went to help out as normal at a Rabbit and G-pig rescue this morning, and they had just got a little female piggy in. And she was in such a state. She had obviously been caught by a fox or something, because she has some awful wounds around her neck and back.

And her skin is in a bad way too, not to mention her claws. I feel so sorry for her. My mum said that once we can afford to pay for vet fees, we will adopt her. We were looking to adopt a female anyway, to put with my neutered boar and sow, and this little piggy is such a sweetie.

She didn't like being handled, but that was because her skin is so bad that it was just causing her agony, but she tried to be interested and was nosing about and she wanted to be fussed, but she was just in too much pain to even be stroked lightly. I so hope she'll be ok, even if I can't adopt her.

Oh my gosh! That's the rescue I got Ascot and Furlong from. Isn't Lorna great? Next time you speak to her tell her that the boys are doing great!

That does sound sound... the poor thing!

How cool, Piglet! Lorna and Jamie are great people, they do such a good job with the rescue! I will definitely let Lorna know how Ascot and Furlong are doing

Re: Ill Piggy Found

Well I have some more news on the little piggy, now called Gloria. She was tried with Lorna's (the owner of the rescue) piggy who has very recently lost a guinea friend, and they get on great! Gloria is doing well, she keeps scratching her wounds open though, so it could be a while before they heal over, and her skin is clearing up too. I'm on the lookout for a pair of female piggies to increase my 'mini herd' (2 pigs...), so hopefully some will come along soon!
