Today we've caught our 14th mouse. They've invaded the shed! We've been using these traps with peanut butter or chocolate biscuit inside http://www.feedem.co.uk/vermin-contr...-5339_zoom.jpg So if anyone has a mouse problem I recommend these traps! |

wow! amazing, where are you releasing them? Mice used to be a serious problem when I lived at home, we were on a farm so had tons of them. |

We released them at least 1km away from our home, and nowhere near other homes. It is annoying that they're in the shed as in the summer my guinea pigs sometimes go in the shed (the cages in the shed are 2x6 but their main cages are 2x4). |

Is there something in your shed that is attracting them, ie food? We had a problem with them getting into our house this winter and it was food that they were after. I'm currently tempted to put a compost bin by my shed, but I store the piggies' hay in there and am afraid that the compost bin may just tempt a whole load of mice in! |

Yes I keep hay, readigrass and dry food in there (actually, my dad keeps the chicken's dry feed in there too). I buy in bulk and don't really wanna keep all their stuff in my room as it takes too much space in my small room. We were catching them on a daily basis but it has been about 2 weeks since we've caught anymore and we haven't heard or seen any more in there so I think (for now) we are mice-free. |

Have you got a cat? Maybe just the cat's presence would keep the mice from making comfortable in your shed... ? |

Keeping your grains, etc. in garbage cans (plastic or metal) with lids should help. You can't let your guard down, either, or they will come back with all their kids and cousins. |

Ive never had mice in my home until this past winter. So I was looking around how to catch them without killing them. Heres how I did it. This works on getting them one at the time though. I used an empty paper towel tube and smeared a little peanut butter on one end of it laid it on the counter just enough to balance it and had an empty garbage can under the tube! He was such a cute little critter! I released him into the woods across the street! I caught 5 total like that and released them. Also, found where they were coming in at and sealed it off. |

Ah, they'll make themselves very comfy around any foodstuff. I've seen it suggested that you should disturb stuff in the shed regularly, ie. make noise and give the boxes a bang, to discourage them setting up home, it might help. Try to keep all food in sealed plastic containers. Hay in my shed doesn't seem to attract mice, they head for my kitchen instead |
