Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0
My screwfix panels came today. 18 were enough to make this 2x4 with a loft. ![]() I am now on the lookout for coroplast to make a base and loft floor. Do you think the coroplast lip will be enough to stop pigs falling off the ledge? or jumping from the ledge tothe sofa? How do people add a snug base with all the wee feet there? Any thoughts would be welcome. |

Well, with the feet there it won't be VERY snug but if you measure from the edge of the feet inside then it should fit well. (I hope that made sense?). For the second level you could make the coroplast lip higher (say, 9") on the open side so they will have less of a chance of falling. |

Not Ranked. Helpful AND tactful post? : 0 Thank you PiggyPaws (how do you add thanks to a posting) I feel reassured about the loft. Having never had pigs before Im not sure how gymnastic they are. A gerbil would be over the arm of the sofa and away before you knew it!! |

Well, some pigs can jump over the grids even. To be safe you would just need one or two extra grids to put up to make sure the pigs are super safe! (how do you add thanks to a posting) At the bottom of the post there is a 'thanks' button with a thumbs up. |

I would really recommend adding another 2 grids, I have a piggy that likes to climb and explore and she would try her best to scale a 9 inch wall. I wouldn't want to risk a fall. I would also put another grid on the side, depending on where you decide to put a ramp to prevent falls or jumps over the side. |

That looks great - the screwfix grids look really good! If you haven't used all the connectors up, I would want to secure the upper level in the middle two places with connectors too - if you have run out, you can use cable ties/wire or even string to keep them together. Ditto what the others have said about the extra grid/s. Whilst a high correx lip would probably keep them contained, you will definitely know they are safe if you add another grid and a bit (depending on how you plan your ramp.) |

Actually you have to be upgraded to Cavy Slave in order to give thanks. Once Killicks is a member for 30 days and 10 posts membership status will automatically change to Cavy Slave and the Thanks button will appear. |
