I dunno then..... I don't think I would give them anything besides plain old Mint. You never know what they could have added in to make it smell the way it does.

    Re: Can Pigs eat Mint?

    I found this:
Chocolate mint (Mentha piperita cv.) is a cultivar (cultivated variation) of peppermint. It doesn't actually taste like chocolate but tastes similar to an after-dinner chocolate mint. (Peppermint itself is a hybrid mint, a cross between watermint and spearmint.)

Use of peppermint in its original hybrid may have been taking place as long as 10,000 years ago.

As a form of peppermint, Chocolate Mint shares beneficial qualities including possible radiation protective capabilities for cancer patients undergoing treatment, pain reduction for sufferers of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), memory improvement, etc

    since it's hybrid is it a no-no?

    Re: Can Pigs eat Mint?

Chocolate mint plants are lovely! I don't know how "safe" they are, but we used to give a few leafs every once in awhile to our old guinea pig (who lived to the ripe old age of 7), and she enjoyed it! Well, it took a few tries to get her to eat it, but after that she got excited about it.

Worse comes to worse, if your piggies don't like it, it makes a wonderfully refreshing tea!

All "hybrid" means is that it's a cross between two other distinct species/varieties, nothing inherently wrong with that.

http://www.guineapigcages.com/forum/...r-forages.html Seems lemon mint, spearmint, and peppermint are on the safe list.
