I noticed today that my 5 year old sow Paisley is having very very large ball shaped poops? She also seems to have a bit of poop on her fur. The poop has also smeared onto their fleece, and smells quite bad. She has always had normal poop until today..

Any idea what could cause this?

I'm sorry I have no experience with this but somebody should be along soon. Hope everything turns out alright for your piggy.

Has anything in her routine or diet changed recently?

If you can think of any environmental cause, the next thing I'd look into is her digestive health. Is she showing any signs of discomfort?

The first thing I'd do is to cut out veggies until you know what's wrong with her. The second thing I'd do is take her to the vet. Bad smelling poop in a guinea pig is a sign of something wrong in the intestinal tract. She may need a course of flagyl or some other treatment.

have you checked her bottom to see if there is some fecal matter stuck in the anus? I saw somehwere a video on how to help guinea pigs who are impacted but think this was more for males
