I have been reading up on the fleece cozies, tunnels and more and want to sew a few for our guinea pig. From what I read, the anti pill is the best fleece to use. Problem is, I don't ever remember seeing labeled anti pill at my local store, or Walmart. Is this something that Joann's would carry? Am I better off ordering online? Is there another name, for the same kind, that I should be looking for?

No clue what anti pill is. I got my fleece at hobby lobby, washed it, and it is fine.

"Anti-pill is the "all occasion" so to speak. Easy on the release of hair and hay, vacuum or brushing out, softer on feet, doesn't pill up so less chance of nails being caught up in the pilling as well. Over all and general use, best used if you don't know what you are doing. "

That's what it says on the 'Fleece types and debate' thread. I'm assuming it's not a thick fleece that tends to get the fuzz balls all over it.

I wait for the fleece to go on sale at Joann Fabrics and then I buy remnants so I get 50% off the sale price. I buy blizzard or anti pill.

I like blizzard more than anti-pill. I've had some anti-pill that took more than 5 washes to start wicking.

Joann's blizzard will be on sale for $2.99/yard on Black Friday.

I buy all my fleece at Walmart when it's on sale for $2 to $3/a yard.
Works great. Different colors and it's close to home. Not shipping costs No having to wait.
It's nice!

If you look online at Joann's website, you will have an idea of the patterns available. I use both anti pill and blizzard. Both are fine. You can find tons of info in the thread devoted to the fleece project!
